Our pre-school room provides a stimulating and inspiring environment designed to assist children, aged between 3 years and 5 years, with more structured learning and play. The planning of activities is designed to hone children’s confidence, independence and willingness to learn.

Our staff will deliver effective teaching and learning to enable children to progress and be ready for school.

Our toddler room provides a nurturing environment designed for children, aged between 2 years and 3 years, to further enhance their early experiences through collaboration and awareness of their wider surroundings.

The balance in timetable will shift towards a more equal focus on all areas of learning as children grow in confidence and ability. The main areas, at this age, include communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.

Our baby room provides a cosy environment designed to give comfort and encouragement for children aged between 6 months and 2 years. We work alongside parents and carers to ensure any home routine is followed, as closely as possible, to minimise any unnecessary distress.

Our nursery layout ensures that children learn and develop appropriately and are kept healthy and safe.

Through a mix of adult-led, child-led and free flow play, facilitated by the nursery layout and the nursery staff, children learn to act both independently and collaboratively to discover and make sense of the world.

Two of our wonderful team are from Montserrat in the Caribbean. Today the children had a little history lesson, learning about their experience in 1997.

One of the children said ‘I wasn’t even born in 1997’ ☺️

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and qualified Nursery Nurse to join our established and welcoming team who believe in creating a fun workplace for all!

You will support our team during our lunchtime periods. The successful candidate will have experience in providing care to children and will join us in our cosy, bright and spacious home from home setting to provide a caring environment for the children.

At Cherish Day Nursery we believe there is no contradiction between teaching children and play. Education and enjoyment should go hand-in-hand! 🙌

For each child at our setting, a key person is assigned and we inform parents and carers of their name and explain their role. The key person ensures that every child’s learning and care is tailored to meet their individual needs and staff seek to engage and support parents and carers in guiding their child’s development at nursery and at home.
