Last week in partnership with our sister nursery in East Sheen we had a farm visit, children from both settings were able to get up close to a range of different farm animals, there were able to touch and feed them.
It was such a lovely experience for both the child and the staff and for some of the children it was the first time see these animals in real life.
It was also a great opportunity for the preschool children from both settings to meet and mingle, giving them the opportunity to meet other children that they be going to big school with.

The children at Mortlake are very curious about the world around them, and are fascinated when they find insects in the garden and it always sparks conversation.
The children for are for ever asking question about what they are, where it comes from and what it likes to eat along, and there is alway a practitioners close by to help extend the childrenβs learning and help research and find out more about what they have found.
We have made a little exploring corner in our garden where the children can go to find out more, the children have even made their own bug hotel to encourage more insects to visit our garden.
Our residential stick insects are a firm favourite with the children and we all work together to clean out their habitat and feed them. πͺ²π¦ππͺ±π

The childrenβs wellbeing and mental health is very important for us at Working Mums and getting out into the fresh air helps promote this, not only do they have space to exercise and increase their physical development but being outdoors also can improve their mood, focus and boost immune system with our newly refurbished garden the children can enjoy the outside area even more.
Along with space to develop their physical skills, we have incorporated a cosy book area where they can sit and relax whilst looking at books or have a story with their friends, and a cosy nature area to encourage our love for nature.
