👉 The verb “passar” is sometimes used interchangeably with “sentir” (to feel) to express how we are feeling.
🇧🇷 Você tá passando bem? / Você tá se sentindo bem? = 🇬🇧 Are you feeling well?
🇧🇷 Você tá passando mal? / Você tá se sending do mal? = 🇬🇧 Are you feeling unwell?
🇧🇷 Não tô passando bem. / Não tô me sentindo bem. = 🇬🇧 I’m not feeling well.
🇧🇷 Tô passando mal. / Tô me sentindo mal. = 🇬🇧 I’m feeling unwell.
👉 mal = (adverb) lit. badly, unwell (the opposite of “bem” / “well”)
👉 Unlike England, where teachers address their teachers as “Mr”, “Miss”, “Mrs” or “Ms”, in Brazil, it’s common for children to address their teachers directly as “professor” or “professora” (teacher).

👉 Ô = an informal way of catching someone’s attention, a bit like “hey” in English.
👉 ó = short for “Olha!” (Look!”)
………
🇧🇷 Tá passando mal?
🇬🇧 Are you feeling unwell?

🇧🇷 Tô.
🇬🇧 Yes.

🇧🇷 Quer que eu fale com a professora?
🇬🇧 Do you want me to speak to the teacher?

🇧🇷 Não, não precisa.
🇬🇧 No, there’s no need.

🇧🇷 Ô, professora, tá morrendo aqui, ó!
🇬🇧 Miss, he’s dying here! Look!
