Ah, Tartiflette—it's the kind of dish that makes you feel like you should be cozied up in a chalet somewhere in the French Alps! Tartiflette is a rich, comforting gratin made with potatoes, reblochon cheese, lardons (bacon), and onions. It originates from the Savoy region of France and was actually popularised as a way to showcase reblochon cheese.
The dish is simple but indulgent: sliced potatoes are layered with caramelised onions and crispy lardons, then smothered with reblochon cheese before being baked until golden and bubbling. The reblochon melts into a creamy, slightly pungent sauce that ties everything together beautifully. Some variations include white wine for extra depth of flavor.
It’s perfect for cold weather, especially after a day of skiing—or just for an evening when you want pure comfort food. Have you ever tried making it?...Delish!
