It is vital to only keep your medical knowledge up to date but also your surgical knowledge. Remember common things are common and try to make sure you exclude all other differentials before commiting to an answer!

There are many different scoring systems all through out healthcare. From scoring the chancing of need anticoagulation via the CHADSVASC score used by clinicans; to the Waterlow scoring system used by nursing and vascular teams to assess person's level of risk of developing a pressure ulcer. Do not learn all of them off by heart but instead try to learn the common ones used by each department like ED/A&E, primary care and whatever specialised speciality placement you are on.

Intrinsic muscles only attach to other structures in the tongue. There are four paired intrinsic muscles of the tongue and they are named by the direction in which they travel: the superior longitudinal, inferior longitudinal, transverse and vertical muscles of the tongue. These muscles affect the shape and size of the tongue – an example of this is in tongue rolling and have a role in facilitating speech, eating and swallowing.

Vertigo can be classified into either peripheral or central, depending on the location of the dysfunction of the vestibular pathway. Vertigo can also be classified into objective, subjective, and pseudovertigo. Objective vertigo is when the person has the sensation that stationary objects in the environment are moving. Subjective vertigo refers to when the person feels as if they are moving. The third type is known as pseudovertigo, an intensive sensation of rotation inside the person's head.
