This is what our values mean in practice.

Harpfield Primary Academy’s Shakespeare Promenade Showcase was a brilliant celebration of creativity, collaboration and confidence. Inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, pupils brought Shakespeare’s world to life through performance, music and imaginative interpretation.

It was a wonderful example of how opportunities beyond the classroom help children grow, express themselves and thrive.

This is what our values mean in practice.

Across our Trust, our ambitious schools are pulling out all the stops to support students during exam season.

At Ash Green School, Year 11 students have turned out in fantastic numbers for morning revision and reminder sessions. Our amazing students are making the most of every opportunity, and this is a brilliant example of the focus and dedication they have shown throughout the exam period.

With staff and students working together like this across our schools, success is being built every day.

We’re proud to share some brilliant moments from REND Nottingham at Goosedale , captured through the lens of student photographers from The Bulwell Academy 📸

A huge thank you to our talented Year 10 students, whose work perfectly captured the energy, warmth and purpose of the evening. From powerful conversations to moments of connection across the room, these images bring the event to life in a really special way.

At Creative Education Trust, we believe in creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom and this is a great example of that in action.

REND Nottingham brought together educators committed to equity, inclusion and lasting change across the sector and it felt entirely fitting that students were part of telling that story.

We are proud to be taking part in 🤖 AI Awareness Day today, a timely moment for education to reflect not just on what AI can do, but how we choose to We are proud to be taking part in 🤖 AI Awareness Day today, a timely moment for education to reflect not just on what AI can do, but how we choose to it responsibly.

At Creative Education Trust, we’ve been developing AdaptEd, an inclusion tool designed to support adaptive teaching, placing professional judgement firmly at the centre and giving staff another option in their toolkit to meet diverse learner needs through responsive, flexible classroom practice.

As we mark AI Awareness Day, we are also clear about the importance of responsible use, including:
🔐 A formal AI policy covering governance, ethics and responsible use
📚 Explicit teaching for students on safe, critical and responsible AI use
🛑 Active monitoring to protect assessment integrity and prevent misuse
🎯 Tools like AdaptEd that are grounded in our Education frameworks, designed to support teacher decision-making, not replace it

We believe the future isn’t about replacing professional expertise. It’s about strengthening it safely, ensuring that teachers remain in control and are empowered to make informed decisions about how and when AI adds value to their practice.

We’ve all heard it before: “When am I ever going to use this in real life?”

Just before half-term, students from eight of our schools answered that question in the best possible way, by putting their learning into action at Whilton Mill Go Karting and Outdoor activities

After months of hard work, designing and building their own go-karts, they took to the track for a test day as part of the STEM On Track programme. Every lap showcased not just technical skill, but teamwork, resilience and real-world problem-solving.

This is practical learning at its best, turning classroom knowledge into something tangible, exciting and unforgettable.

Next stop: the National Finals, where around 100 schools will compete. We can’t wait to see how our CET teams get on.

Good luck to everyone involved!

This is what our values look like in practice.

Wrenn School recently pulled out all the stops for Mental Health Awareness Week. There were music workshops and wellbeing activities for all students, including the chance to play board games, take part in colouring, get lost in a book, and more.

But one simple and striking moment stood out. Male staff wearing “Boys Get Sad Too” T-shirts.

A visible and intentional act of role modelling.
A reminder that strength includes vulnerability.
And a signal to students that it is safe to talk.

This work is rooted in the school’s commitment to positive masculinity. Now in its second year, the project has included safeguarding training for staff that emphasises not only calling out inappropriate behaviours, but also calling in to support reflection and growth.

It has involved deep listening to students to understand what it is like to be a boy in secondary school in 2026, alongside 1:1 mentoring for those who find it harder to express themselves.

Ultimately, the goal is to ensure every student can thrive in and outside the classroom, supported by healthy relationships with both peers and staff.

This is what our values look like in practice.

Our mission to transform lives through education that inspires ambition, champions equity, and unlocks opportunity is made possible by empowering leadership at all levels.

That includes senior leadership teams, heads of subject, classroom teachers and support staff... and our students too.

Ellis Guilford School’s Year 8 and Year 9 Future Leaders expertly planned and led a fantastic sports session for Year 6 pupils. The event was a huge success, filled with energy, teamwork and plenty of smiles. 😊

Experiences like this give students the confidence to step forward, take responsibility and inspire others.

A brilliant example of students leading the way. 👏

🏅 Future Leaders in Action! 🏅

We were delighted to welcome a group of Year 6 pupils from a local primary school for a fantastic sports session – expertly planned and led by our Year 8 and Year 9 children!

The event was a huge success, filled with energy, teamwork and plenty of smiles. 😊 Our children did an incredible job organising such an EGScellent session, showing confidence, leadership and creativity throughout.

This experience has helped them develop valuable life skills and given them the opportunity to plan, lead and inspire others independently. We couldn’t be prouder! 👏

Huge congratulations to the team at Primary Academy on their incredible success in flag football 🏆

Having already been crowned East of England champions in Cambridge, they now head to Manchester in June to compete against the top 12 schools in the country, with the chance to represent Great Britain in the USA.

What makes this even more impressive is that many of the children were new to the sport when they first started. Through commitment, teamwork and expert coaching from Christopher Holmes, they have developed into a high-performing team in one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.

Meet the team on BBC Look East (iPlayer, available until midnight tonight. Watch from 27:50):
