We’re thrilled to announce that the 2025 BBC Carleton Hobbs Bursaries have been awarded to Django Bevan, who won a one-year contract with the BBC Radio Drama Company, and Jax Guerrero, who received the runner-up prize - a one-off freelance contract with the BBC Radio Drama productions. This marks the second time in three years that Mountview students have won the prestigious Carleton Hobbs Award!

Both Django and Jax are 3rd year acting students, and their achievements demonstrate how our acting pathway continues to raise the bar. Well done and huge congratulations to you both!✨

"Enlightening, life-changing, incredible.
A transformational course which encourages the exploration of the arts as a tool for change in a holistic, reflective and boundary pushing way. It was completely different from any educational experience I have had - in the best way! There was so much time for individually processing information which was really helpful, and the structure of modules allowed for connections to be made between course content in a non-linear way throughout the whole course. I often found myself understanding previous readings in different ways at different points as I gained alternative perspectives/knowledge. The majority of my current work is a result of the course. This is due to connections made whilst studying at Mountview and through Maria, as well as the course broadening my aspirations and opening my eyes to new areas of work I was previously unaware of or wouldn’t have thought myself capable of."

🎭Mountview’s Part-Time Acting (Vocational) participants finished their course this month and celebrated their achievement with a sharing of some of their work for family and friends.

Applications are now open for 25/26 entry to the course. The course takes place at Mountview across three evenings per week for six months and provides the core elements of acting training while participants develop their creativity and artistic identity.

Students, staff and graduates from our MA courses in Theatre for Community and Education and Creative Producing had a fantastic time participating in an Open Space Technology event facilitated by Maria Askew. The self-directed event titled "Theatre for... What? Conversations on Theatre, Education and Social Justice" gave participants the opportunity to connect and reflect on the topics that matter to them.🌏

The group proposed a wide range of topics, engaged in rich discussions and managed their own time/experience. Many exciting ideas were shared and meaningful connections were made!

Spring Awakening is a beautiful and poignant coming-of-age story that delves into the complexities of adolescent emotions as we encounter new feelings, relationships, attractions and insecurities. A tortured swirl of passion and rebellion, where young souls strain against societal constraints and move beyond childhood…

Performed by our Musical Theatre students to the celebrated Tony Award-winning rock score, this intimate studio production features music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater.
