We ascribe to the World Health Organisation's definition of health which states:-
'Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being
and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'
Consequently, we take a holistic approach wherever possible to consolidate the work we deliver. By helping those we work with to see the fuller picture, we enable them find strategies and solutions that bring things back to a more harmonious balance.

The encouraging feeback that keeps us going
"...several students voted the session as the ‘Best Aspect’ of Module 201...."
We did not get much specific feedback this year however we did receive this comment from a student:....
“The HIV lecture with patients opened my mind to many aspects of care and how I can be a better health professional.”

Not one of our greatest photos but a great team celebrating the end of a great training day ~ training foster carers on safeguarding children. Work over, a quick cheer to Milton Keynes, as we head back to London,
Jim and I agreed that one of the most beautiful things to take away from today was to be told by our participants that what stood out about our training was that we didn't just parachute in with text book theory.. our lived experiences are at the heart of what we have chosen to call work.... Now how rewarding is that..

Proud to have delivered for the 11th consecutive year, our contribution to the medical school curriculum. For the 2nd year now, today, as a double act, in which we were able to demonstrate to some extent the diversity of people livng with HIV, not just in terms of race, but background, reactions to diagnosis etc

"Duty called to the beautiful and historic English cathedral city and with my RestorEgo cap on, I showed up to contribute to the health awareness event. A hugely rewarding day spent learning and sharing ~ and making connections.
I was particularly struck by someone who with wet eyes, came to me and said "i was so moved by your talk. Even though I know very little about HIV and until today, I had never met anyone with HIV, when you talked about stigma you could have been speaking for me. I was born epileptic and my mother refused talk about it let alone accept that I had it..."
We chatted a bit more and agreed that perhaps, in the near future, we could think of sharing the stage together to talk about the stigma of chronic health conditions in general. Now who would have thought? When I felt my eyes welling up, I excused myself, as I broke into dance, courtesy of the Royal Destiny Choir.
Thank you Lillian for facilitating today, just as you did for me those many years ago ~ Thandi Haruperi
It is always great to get feedback, one just landed in my inbox from our Confidence and Self Esteem course last week. "Hi thandi, it was lovely meeting you and it was a great course, where again I learnt a lot about myself and what is important and not. Are you running anymore courses?"
