🎢🎻🎺A visit to Royal Festival Hall!πŸ₯πŸŽ·πŸŽ΅

We had the absolute pleasure of joining the London Sinfonietta Orchestra to celebrate young musicians and composers. We learned about a range of instrument and listened to some wonderful new pieces of music. From singing along to listening carefully, we had a wonderful experience!

We were also chosen to work with the LSO to create pupil interviews to send to funders and their wider learning pages! Some budding musicians and reporters in the wings!

War on Waste - Toy Swap and our VIP Visit!

Our Eco Council had the best idea of hosted a toy swap! The aim of the event was to reduce waste and carbon emissions by encouraging children to donate toys and take home β€˜new-to-me’ ones instead.

The event was a great success, with many children finding fantastic donated toys to take home.

We were also delighted to welcome a special guest, local MP Stella Creasy, who spoke with the children about her role in government and listened to their ideas on how to improve our local community. We discussed all of the great things we do at TG and Stella offered some new ideas of things happening in our local community!

Thank you to all the families for your kind donations, and to our amazing Eco Council children for running the event so brilliantly.

Design Technology Bonanza!

We had lots of fun this week as all classes completed their Design Technology projects. Year 3 were developing their food technology understanding by designing and creating some delicious and healthy sandwiches for a picnic. They enjoyed learning about a range of healthy fillings while also improving their food prep and cutting skills in a safe and controlled environment!

Year 4 were young engineers creating moving mechanisms! Some designed and created moving posters, while others created moving greeting cards with levers, sliders and linkages!

Violent clips, online conflicts and shock-value challenges can spread rapidly across social media platforms. Many young people are exposed to this content through algorithms or messaging groups, even when they were not actively searching for it.

Our latest guide explores how viral trends can encourage risky behaviour, normalise violence and create anxiety or fear within communities.

The guide also highlights:
β€’ The emotional and legal risks of sharing violent content
β€’ How social media algorithms amplify harmful material
β€’ Practical advice for parents and educators
