Year 3 enjoyed their Science lesson under the shelter today. They have been learning about muscle movements and today they were measuring the circumference and length of the thigh muscle to see if there was any correlation in how far they could jump. Does having a bigger muscle mean you can jump further?

Mrs Lipshaw delivered her welcome back assembly this morning with the theme of teamwork. Taking inspiration from some of the best football teams in the world ahead of the FIFA World Cup she discussed what qualities makes a good team, such as respect, effort, determination and pride. She also looked at football kits and why it is important to look smart so we are ready to succeed. She likened a football kit to our school uniform and explained that wearing our school logo is something to be proud of.
As we enter the final half term of the year there is still time to improve learning outcomes, show kindness, challenge ourselves an make our school proud. Success comes when everyone works together.

Our Year 6 children took part in a circulation and heart dissection workshop today. They explored the vital function of the heart, learned how to keep it healthy and investigated how blood circulates through the heart and lungs. The workshop also gave them the opportunity to study the anatomy of the heart and understand the role of its different parts. To deepen their learning, the children then safely dissected a lambβs heart to identify and examine the main structures firsthand.

Our Nursery children have really embraced their topic of growing and looking at life cycles. They have enjoyed reading the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and they have been feeding and looking after their very own butterflies. Today, with lots of excitement, pointing and squealing we released them into the wild. The children were so excited to watch them fly away. π¦

All our children took part in the TCS Mini Marathon on Friday and what a day it was. Our Nursery and Reception children ran around our daily mile track and years 1-6 completed their 2 mile run on JFSβs beautiful 400m grass running track. We had a team of marathon running parents who coached our children and encouraged them around the track. There was a real sense of achievement and happiness amongst the children and we are so proud of their sporting endeavour. ππΌββοΈ ππ½ββοΈ ππΎ

Our Nursery held the sweetest Seder and all the children joined in beautifully. They sang with confidence and really enjoyed their first school Seder experience. We loved having our parents and grandparents in to share it with the children. πππ
