As we head into a new trading week I really want you to only focus on your risk to reward. Great traders understand that trading boils down to the numbers. So if you think about it, would you prefer to have better odds in your favour and have more chances to win, than to have to be right more times than you are wrong?

Trade smart, not hard! Be patient and most of all Trust The Process.

Don't make trading complicated. There is only two things you want to happen:

1. Take a buy and price continues bullish!
2. Take a sell and price continues bearish!

That's it!

Now identify what confluences you can add to support why it should continue bullish or bearish and plan your trade.

Once those confluences line up EXECUTE!

Winning traders are quick to close their trades. They do what the market is telling them, not what they want the markets to do.

Hope traders hold, pray and beg that their trades work out because they are too caught up in their emotions.

Winnings traders wait patiently without continuously changing their bias, waiting for their patterns to develop in line with their trading plan.

Hope traders get caught up in their feelings and fear missing trades, chase their losses and continuously switch their positions.

Let me explain: Swing traders will complain that their trades take too long, day traders will complain that they miss all their trades, scalpers will complain that they keep getting wicked out, and the list goes on. There is a reason why there is a minority in this business that succeed, because only a few know that the answer to all the problems as a trader is themselves. When you can start focusing on your behaviours and stop hiding behind the "My strategy doesn't work excuse", then, and only then will you start to see consistent results.

You wanted the Holy Grail of trading? Well here it is. Risk to reward ratio is the only secret you need to know.

Great traders understand that trading boils down to the numbers. So if you think about it, would you prefer to have better odds in your favour and have more chances to win, than to have to be right more times than you are wrong?

Now would you prefer to have 3 attempts to make $3 only risking $1? Or one attempt to make $1 risking $1?

That's my point! Risking $1 to make $3 or using a risk to reward ratio of 1:3 means that even if you lose 3 trade's in a row and win your 4th, you still end back at breakeven.

But lose $1 3 times in a row, only aiming for $1 profit each time or a risk to reward ration of 1:1, and win your 4th trade, you are still down $-2.

Trade smart, not hard! Be patient and most of all Trust The Process.

First find all the reasons why not to take a trade, and if you can't find any, then plan your trades. Trading is not about predicting, it is all about finding repeatable patterns that have a positive expectancy, and then support the trade idea with the confluences that make up that trade.
