Dwight School London is a non-selective International Baccalaureate school open to students aged 2-18

Dwight School London is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, and it was one of the first in the UK to offer the full IB Programme. Through blending the best of a traditional curriculum with the innovative IB, all Dwight School London students have opportunities to learn in depth and to develop as well-balanced individuals. They become active learners as opposed to passive listeners.

🎨 Looking back at trips 🎨

Last term, our Year 10, Year 11 and IB Diploma Year 1 Spanish B students enjoyed an inspiring visit to the Tate Modern to explore the exhibition 'Frida: The Making of an Icon'.

The exhibition gave students the opportunity to engage with Frida Kahlo's extraordinary artwork and discover more about her life, identity and cultural legacy through paintings, photographs and personal objects.

As Frida Kahlo is a key figure studied in the IB Spanish curricula, the visit brought classroom learning to life and encouraged students to deepen their understanding of one of the most influential artists in the Spanish-speaking world.

We can't wait for all the exciting and educational trips awaiting us next year!

🧠 Looking back at last year's learning 🧠

As one of the last projects of the year, Year 3 students did some fantastic animal ecosystem inquiries! Each student researched a chosen animal, created fact sheets, wrote persuasively about protecting ecosystems, designed surveys on environmental sustainability, produced bar graphs and pictograms, and presented their findings to the community.

This project showcased not only how mathematics and language can be authentically integrated into their learning, but also the dedication students brought to understanding the natural world and the importance of protecting it. Their presentations were a wonderful opportunity to share their learning and inspire others to care for the environment.

πŸ† Looking Back at Our House Sports Competition Winners! πŸ†

To round off another fantastic year of House Competitions, pupils from Reception to Year 6 ended the school year with our Wimbledon-themed House Tennis Competition. The event was keenly contested and, most importantly, fully inclusive, with every student given the opportunity to contribute points for their house.

Each house had six minutes to hit as many balls as possible into the court, creating an exciting and energetic finale to the year's sporting competitions. The Pioneers emerged as champions with an impressive 38 successful shots, followed by the Artists on 32, while the Visionaries finished with 25.

Students in Years 3–6 also competed in House Cricket, Baseball, and Rounders competitions, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination.

After all of the House Sport results from the week were added together, the Pioneers were crowned the overall House Champions for 2025–26 and were proudly presented with the Matt Parkin Trophy! Congratulations to all of our students for their enthusiasm, commitment, and outstanding support for their houses throughout the last year.

After a full year of engineering, problem-solving, and driving practice, our incredible Junior School Green Car Club students did something amazing: they rebuilt the Dwight electric go-kart from scratch!

Last weekend, they took their hard work to the Ford Dunton race track to compete in the Greenpower Education Trust's race. Facing a fierce lineup of nationwide and global teams (including one that traveled all the way from Australia! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί), our students truly embodied the risk-taker trait.

The day started with a few early setbacks and technical hiccups, but the Roaring Pride team showed unmatched resilience. Unfazed by the rocky start, they confidently bounced back and placed FIRST in their heat! πŸ†πŸ₯‡

We are bursting with pride for Dwight Global Online School alumnus Michael Zheng, who recently wrapped up an unforgettable run at Wimbledon, reaching the third round of the gentlemen's singles! πŸ™Œ

Michael showed incredible composure and world-class talent, going toe-to-toe with the tournament’s #3 seed, FΓ©lix Auger-Aliassime, on Centre Court. After fighting through an intense, edge-of-your-seat first-set tiebreak, Michael gave it his absolute all against one of the top players in the world.

From his thrilling 5-set victory over British No. 1 Cameron Norrie in the opening round to this spectacular Centre Court moment, Michael has truly embodied the ambitious, global spirit of the Dwight family. πŸ“Ί
