Swiss lace fronts! Time to lay down our 40 denier Swiss lace, smoothing and pinning into place so it lies perfectly flat over the forehead, the hairline and parting. Good tension means the lace lies flat, so no ripples or lifting away from the head. Excellent work from Cynthia, Kai, Emma, Erika, Grayson and Helena under the watchful eye of Master Wig Tutor

It’s nape time for our bespoke, hand crafted, full lace wig foundations. Some great images of the various stages of laying down the Terylene lace, placing the darts, creating beautiful neat seams and whipping into place. Foundation making!! After a bit of whipping practice it’s time to get started on our full lace, hand stitched (whipped), made to measure wig foundations. Here’s where we got up to after the first day on this section of our 7-Day Intensive Wig Making Course. The perimeter tension band has been laid down and darted so it fits the curve of the head. The inside seam is then turned out. Next the crown section is added. Again, this is darted so this flat piece of Terylene lace fits beautifully over the curve of the head. The outer edge is then trimmed and turned under to lock into place with the perimeter edge. This is all pinned into place and then whipped down. The grain direction of the lace, and the direction of the darts are important. Bespoke headblock making! Time to use our fabulous new headwraps to create headblocks the exact size and shape of the person the wrap was taken from so we can create our made to measure wigs. This step is so important as a good block can be used time and time again to make wigs for your client and you know they will always be a perfect fit. Great work from our fantastic students Cynthia, Kai, Emma, Erika, Grayson and Helena, under the watchful eye of our Master Wig Tutor 🤩

The glamour of the headprep! Day 1 of our 7-Day Intensive Wig Making Course and we welcomed Cynthia, Emma, Grayson, Erika, Kai and Helena to WAM Studio.
Our Master Wig Tutor kicked off the course with a session on the different ways to do a headprep before taking a headwrap. Always a fun day and good icebreaker! ☺️
