We are on to our ‘Knotting Your Wig’ section of our studio 7-Day Intensive Wig Making Course and Lomasi, Stacy, Carolina, Katelyn, Victoria and Molly are plotting out the knotting directions for different areas of their wig foundations so they can continue knotting at home to complete their wigs. Some lovely knotting here under the expert guidance of our Master Wig Tutor . Well done everyone!

The wonderful Simone from visiting WAM Studio to talk about the hair they source, prepare and supply the industry. Simone also brings an extensive range of hair samples for our students to see and handle to deepen their understanding and knowledge.
We worked with Tashajacks to create our student Hair Pack kit, designed to provide the hair required for our learning to knot sessions and then to knot a whole wig. The kit uses their budget range hair which offers a good balance of prepared double drawn hair at an affordable price. They are available through the shop page on our website, link in bio, and support both our studio and online courses.
We are so happy that Simone is able to take time out of her busy schedule to visit every studio course to talk to our students.

Lace fronts!! Brilliant work from our January 7-Day Intensive students. Some great pics of Victoria, Stacy, Katlyn, Lorri, .newell and .quina laying down and pinning the 40 denier front lace over their headblocks, smoothing down flat as they go. It’s tricky as you’re curving a flat piece of lace over a rounded headblock so you keep smoothing and pinning, smoothing and repinning until it lays flat across the hairline and forehead. It feels like a lifetime since we last posted! We’ve both had a busy few months in our respective theatres, Philip at the National Theatre and Corinne at English National Opera, and have just had a wonderful 7 days in the studio with our March 7-Day Intensive students which we can’t wait to share.
Let’s first catch up where we left off with our January 7-Day Intensive students Victoria, Stacy, Katlyn, Lorri, .quina and .newell as they form the nape sections of their bespoke, full lace foundations 🤩

Onto our crown sections now where we smooth a section of Terylene lace over the crown of the block, with the holes (grain) running in the correct direction, and shape it using strategically positioned darts. We then connect it to our tension band using a folded seam. Lovely work, as always from our students Victoria, Stacy, Katlyn, Lorri, .quina and .newell on our January 7-Day Intensive Wig Making course. 🤩
