The Day

Since 2011 The Day has been turning news into lessons and is recognised for its integrity, balance and quality.

It has a paying readership of 900 schools using digital subscriptions to teach nearly 1m students per day. The Day is a rich and engaging online educational resource that turns news into lessons across three differentiated reading levels for schools around the globe. For 12 years, The Day has provided schools with unlimited access to activities that bring big global issues into the classroom through daily news written in-house, polls, videos, and links for external guided research. By making connections between current affairs and the curriculum, we encourage students to become more actively engaged in their studies and more inquisitive, enabling them to develop cultural capital and the skills they need to be successful in the modern world and ethical, informed citizens.

Last chance to enter ⌛

We’re looking for schools and colleges to take part in an exciting new research project from The Day and researchers at the University of Oxford, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

From September–November 2026, groups of 6–8 students aged 16+ will have the opportunity to create and publish their own original stories exploring arts, culture, identity and the issues shaping their world.

Their work will contribute to research exploring how young people’s voices can help shape more inclusive approaches to mental health research.

We’re particularly keen to hear from schools and colleges serving coastal, rural and underrepresented communities.

Join organisations like Leicester College, Walsall College and Acland Burghley School, who are giving their students the chance to have their voices heard through this research.
