Happy !

Today we've published six reasons to pick up a book - and ask: Is reading the best hobby?

Students disengage from reading when texts feel irrelevant... but engagement rises when reading connects to their world.

The Day publishes daily, classroom-ready news on the issues young people are already discussing. It makes reading feel current and purposeful, helping students build confidence and stronger habits.

Have you been using our LEGO® Build the Change resources or taken part in an event? If so, we’d love your help to understand the impact it’s had in your classroom.

By completing our short (under five minutes!) teacher and student surveys, you’ll help The Day and the LEGO Group learn how Build the Change supports young people to understand real-world issues, develop vital skills like creativity and problem-solving, and feel motivated to make a difference.

Both surveys take under five minutes, and as a thank you, teachers and schools will be entered into prize draws to win £25 Amazon vouchers. A small action that helps shape Build the Change and benefits classrooms everywhere.

Magic happens when you pass children a microphone. Their imagination is limitless and their creativity fuels innovative ideas for change that only young minds could come up with. Our LEGO® Build the Change Youth Council shared bold ideas for a better world - one where everyone belongs and feels welcome - to a room full of educators and industry experts in the fields of urban design, planning and sustainability.

From a community hub with themed rooms, free meals and activities to suit all ages to tackle loneliness, to a friendship bench and phone-a-friend box set in nature, to a library transformed by a nature wall and recycling hub, these young people had so many inspiring ideas about how we could build our world with empathy, accessibility and nature at its heart.

Having explored these issues in the news, they used play and creativity to come up with solutions and presented these ideas to those who have the power to make a difference.
