Life-sized puppet animals built and tested by Wimbledon students took their first steps at the launch of new public art project The Herds last week, gaining global media coverage. Next year, a herd of these puppets will trek from Congo to Norway, symbolically fleeing the effects of climate change. With World Book Day just past and international illustrated publisher Thames & Hudson celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, there's no better time to get inspired by their guest-curated Showcase collection; here to remind us that even in the digital age, print has proven it's here to stay.
From a dragon-scale-bound scroll, a pop-out theatre, AI and archives to intricate marine-inspired paper cutting, this collection considers the craft of print publishing from every angle.
