Over 12 weeks, our Hip-Hop & Rap short course students build their artistry - developing their lyricism, refining flow, and progressing through recording, performance, and shaping a distinct creative identity.
 
For their final showcase, they teamed up with our DJ students, who provided the beats behind each track. A chance to collaborate across disciplines and perform in a live setting 🎤
 
The event gave students the opportunity to connect across disciplines and explore what true creative collaboration looks like - all within the ICMP community!

Earlier this year, Music Business students Nick and Edith brought their vision to life with Sapling Sessions, an evening of acoustic and indie folk music hosted
 
More than just a gig, it was a chance to put their skills into practice. From planning and promotion to creating a welcoming atmosphere, the event showcased what it takes to bring live music to life. Experiences like these help students build community, create memorable moments, and gain hands-on industry experience.

Why mindset matters 🧠 
 
We spoke with Ben Jones, who leads our Performance programmes, about why growth in music means stepping outside your comfort zone. 
 
Making mistakes, taking risks, and being open to challenges are all part of the journey. What mindset shifts have helped you grow as a musician? 🤔
 
 

During our recent session with .live, we were also joined by Product Manager, Davide Mura.
 
 Speaking with our third-year Music Business & Entrepreneurship students, Davide shared his journey into the live sector, offering insight into the transition from education to industry.
 
 He also explored his role at Gotobeat, from managing product workflows to developing tools that help deliver smarter, more efficient shows for artists across the UK and Europe 🎶 
 
Together with Davide’s perspective, students gained a well-rounded view of both the vision and ex*****on behind building impactful live music businesses.

Collaboration in action at ICMP 🎧🎤 
 
Over 12 weeks, our DJ short course students learn how to DJ from scratch - from first mixes and transitions to building confidence behind the decks.
 
This final event brought them together with students from our Hip-Hop & Rap short course, who’ve been writing, performing and developing original tracks - creating a shared space to collaborate, perform and put everything they’ve learned into practice.
 
It was a chance to test new skills, work with creatives from another discipline and experience what real‑world collaboration looks like all under one roof at ICMP.
