Early celebration for Chinese New Year with a wonderful Chinese lunch before the half term begins. At OPDS we value connection, culture, and community. This was a great opportunity for our team to come together and mark the occasion. 🧧🥢

Our consultant Cathy had a lovely visit to one of our guardian students at Kent College Canterbury this week. Cathy was checking up on how they’re settling in and making sure they’re happy, supported, and thriving both in and out of school. Regular school visits and face to face check-ins are a key part of how we support our guardianship students - it’s always a pleasure to see them doing so well. 😊

Last week staff were extremely busy with the return of students to the UK. The weather disruption caused a few flight cancellations and delays. Our team were on hand to arrange late taxi transfers and alternative host family stays. We maintained close contact with students, parents and schools to ensure every student was safe and supported on their travels. ✈️❄️

OPDS staff have started the Christmas celebrations after a busy first term. As most of our students begin their journey home for the festive season, we want to wish them all safe travels and a wonderful holiday with friends and family. Our Director Larry Field travelled to Malvern St James School for a parents evening this week to ensure continuous support, clear communication and positive academic progress! We are always here to support, guide and cheer our students on every step of the way! 🇬🇧📚

Being our guardian student since Y7, and now a Y13 young man, our Director Larry has been attending his parents meetings every year! Larry came back from the most recent P/T meeting and said "he is a humble, quietly confident and hard working young man! These are the qualities that will bode well for his future"! Congratulations to all school staff at Denstone College for this wonderful development of our young boy. 👏🏻😊

Felsted School had students complete an exciting “One Day Film School” last week. We are very proud of our student Eric for winning Best Actor 👏🏻
