Learning from a professional! 📸✨

Our Year 10 and Sixth Form Art & Photography students enjoyed a fantastic day with renowned photographer Richard Ash.

Richard gave students a fascinating insight into his work with the Imperial War Museum, as well as an exclusive preview of an exciting, currently unpublished project he’s working on. 👀

Then it was time to get hands-on! Students headed into the studio to experiment with DSLR cameras, lighting setups and camera settings, discovering how changes in light, exposure and technique can completely transform an image. 💡📷

A brilliant opportunity to learn, experiment and be inspired - and to gain a real insight into life behind the lens from a professional photographer.

Celebrating European Day of Languages! ✨🌍
To mark the occasion, our Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Mr Navarro, delivered a special assembly exploring the importance and benefits of learning a language. 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇩🇪
From discovering the surprising foreign words we use every day in English to hearing real-life stories from our staff, students got to see just how much languages can open up the world around us. 🌎💬
Staff members took to the stage to share their own experiences of using languages — especially while travelling — and how learning another language has enriched their lives. ✈️🗣️
A brilliant reminder that learning a language isn’t just about words… it’s about people, places, cultures and experiences. ❤️

What a wonderful morning for a fantastic cause! On Friday, our staff, students and parents came together to support Macmillan Cancer Support. 💚☕️

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who donated cakes, brownies, cookies and other delicious treats, as well as those who donated money and gave up their time to join us for a coffee and cake. 🧁🍰 
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the morning such a success. Your kindness and generosity will help support Macmillan in providing vital support to people living with cancer. 💚

New Friends, New Challenges, New Adventures! ✨

What a way to kick off life at Maida Vale School! Our new Year 7 students recently headed to PGL Osmington Bay on the stunning Dorset coast for an action-packed adventure full of challenges, teamwork, laughter and plenty of unforgettable moments! 🙌

From stepping outside their comfort zones to cheering each other on, making new friends and building new friendships, our students embraced every challenge along the way. 💙

A new school year has begun — and with it comes a whole new world of possibility. ✨
This morning, our Headmaster, Magnus Bashaarat, welcomed students back with a special assembly, reflecting on what lies ahead through our School Values: Creativity, Curiosity, Collaboration and Adaptability.
We’re excited to see where our students’ curiosity takes them — creating, collaborating, exploring new ideas and adapting to whatever the year brings.

Many congratulations to our Year 11 students for achieving the best set of GCSE results to date at Maida Vale School!🎉👏
36% of all grades are 8s and 9s - meaning over a third of all grades achieved are among the highest grades. 🎉
There are some particularly impressive subject results too:
79% of Biology, Chemistry and Physics grades are 8s and 9s
47% of English Language and Literature grades are 8s and 9s
30% of Maths grades are 8s and 9s
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication and determination throughout the year. A fantastic achievement for our students, and a wonderful reflection of the support and commitment of our staff and families.

A huge congratulations to our Year 11 students on their GCSE results! 👏
We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination and resilience that have gone into these results, with some fantastic achievements across the year group. 🌟
36% of all grades are 8s and 9s - meaning over a third of all grades achieved are among the highest grades. 🎉

We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and of the dedication, hard work and determination they have shown throughout their time with us. It has been a privilege to be part of their educational journey, and we are delighted to celebrate this success alongside them.

Today, we celebrated National Thank a Teacher Day by sharing a little gratitude with the people who make a big difference every day. 💙✨🍎
Our students created beautiful handmade ‘appreciation’ folders, each filled with heartfelt, personal messages for their favourite teachers, thanking them for all the support, encouragement, and guidance they’ve given throughout the academic year. 💌
