Hi everyone, I’m Pia and I’m going into my 3rd year of Biochemistry. I was born in Slovenia and I moved to London two years ago to start my studies here at Imperial. I have truly enjoyed my time here so far; I made so many great memories and met amazing people! The committee and I are super excited for the upcoming academic year. We worked hard over the summer to bring you a good mix of social and academic events throughout the year. I highly encourage you to take the initiative and attend them (as well as those from other amazing societies) to learn a new skill or just make new friends! Feel free to reach out anytime and if you see me around campus definitely say hi – I look forward to meeting you all :)

Hi everyone I am Hannah Pitchford, a third-year biochemistry student. I will be your Secretary for the upcoming year, basically your first point of contact if you have any enquiries regarding what we do and have going on in our society 🤗! I was born and raised in China until the age of 12, later moved to the UK with my family and have lived here ever since. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as part of the BiocChemSoc so I will do my best to coordinate everything and ensure you guys do as well. If you have any questions, even just looking for a chat, please feel free to email me or stop me around campus (specifically 4th floor in the library 🙃). See you guys soon!

Hi everyone, my name is Charlotte, I’m going into my third year and I’m super excited to be the Treasurer for BiochemSoc this year! I hope you all have a great year in the society- if you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me :)

Hi everyone, I’m Lina and this year I will be one of your social event officers. I’m a third year biochemistry student and I have lived in a few different places but spent most of my time in Morocco. My role consists of coming up with new ideas for events and arranging the best socials that you truly deserve. We all work hard throughout the year and desperately need a mental break, so I hope that our socials will do their magic for you ! Please please please feel free to hit me up if you have any suggestions for the events as your opinion matters to us :)

Hi I’m Kary, going into 2nd year biochemistry! I will be one of the social event officers alongside Lina :) I am from HK and my hobbies include watching Netflix, playing the guitar, finding good food around ldn etc! Be sure to hit me up for restaurant recommendations!! Feel free to reach out for anything!

Hey everyone! I’m Sumithra, a third year biochemistry student. I’m originally from India but have lived in Singapore mostly.
I’ll be your co-academic officer along with Lucie! Feel free to reach out if you need any help or have any questions or just want to play some basketball. Looking forward to meeting you all :))

Hiya! I’m Kono, a 3rd year biochemist currently doing a placement year in London. I’m originally from Japan but have lived in the UK for as long as I can remember. I’ll be one of your publicity officers for this year! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or if you just wanna have a chat! I might not be on campus often but I will definitely be floating around somewhere in London. But if you ever see me running to catch a central line train in the mornings….no you didn’t :)

Hi I am Jamie, and I am one of the publicity officers this year. I’m a second-year biochemistry student from Korea. I like wandering around Hyde park or watching anime during my free time. So, if you want to join me on a walk or have any good anime recommendations, please hit me up! See you around!

Hi everyone! I’m Chloe and I will be starting my third year as a placement student on a year in industry. You may recognise me from last year as your Publicity Officer, but this year I will be part of the Biochemistry Society as the Sponsorship Officer! This means I will be working on bringing sponsors to our society, not only so that we can organise bigger and better events for you, but also to provide a network for people who are looking into career paths. Last year, we started to organise more in-person events after a tough previous year dealing with Covid, and stay assured that this year there will be more! I may not be on campus as often as others, but hopefully I will be able to meet some of you in-person this year!

Hi, I’m Kathleen! I’m a third-year Biochemist and currently on a placement in London (escaping from uni for a bit). I was publicity officer in first year and president in second year, so I have quite the history with this society. I think we’ve built a pretty solid foundation in terms of the breadth of events that we offer - from career & research insight, to fun tours, picnics and balls (!!!). This year as the postgraduate officer, I’m hoping to expand our reach to the postgrads and encompass as much of the community at Imperial as possible. We can’t wait to meet you all on campus and show you around!

I have genuinely loved my time at uni; I think the people you choose to hang out with really help make the best memories. I’ve tucked away precious moments like training and dancing with friends, having lunch at SEC and, haha, half-dying at the library whilst revising for exams (ironically enough). When I’m on my own though, I get too invested in dystopian fantasies (Sarah J. Maas fans assemble) and ring my family & friends from back home.
