Warming up... ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ”ฅ

From building quietly behind the scenes to stepping into rooms I once only imagined. This isnโ€™t luck although I'm feeling incredibly lucky to be saying this today!!

This is years of showing up, supporting families, and doing the work when no one was watching.

I am a UK Top Influencer finalist in the educatioion category and I am SO excited!!

I am SO proud to share that Bamboo (Elevate. Balance. Learn.) has been named a 2026 Finalist in the UK Small Business Awards for ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ญ!

When I started my business it was to build something that actually worked. Something structured, measurable and something that changed outcomes for children and families that are often overlooked.

To be recognised for social impact is actually something I never thought would happen and it means more than I can put into words, so until I find the words all I can say is...

I am beyond grateful!

In October 2025, Bamboo won its first ever award.
It was one of the most special days of my life.

Not because of the trophy although, holding it did awaken that childlike feeling of, โ€œLook mummy, look what I got.โ€ But because of what it represented.

Over the last two years, I have worked relentlessly. Building between solo motherhood, advocacy, and long nights refining inclusive systems. Quietly proving that structured, measurable inclusion belongs everywhere.

After that award, everything accelerated.

I was appointed Global Advisor for Billion Strong; a global disability organisation.
I turned my Inclusive Systems framework into a white paper and I stepped fully into public thought leadership.

And then, on 14th January 2026, I received an email.

I had been nominated for Woman Who Achieves: celebrating excellence in business.

This nomination is deeply meaningful. Not simply as recognition, but because I am part of Sandra Garlickโ€™s Academy. To be recognised within that community of driven, purposeful women is something I do not take lightly.

Winning does not matter to me. What matters is the opportunity to once again step into a room filled with phenomenal women and celebrate their excellence.

No matter what I will continue building.

School readiness is often reduced to attendance or behaviour.
But readiness is a developmental capacity, not a moment in time.

Last week, I wrote about school readiness as something built on regulation, communication, safety, and timing; not pressure or compliance.

This week, SEND reform and the proposed 4-tier model have taken centre stage, with renewed focus on early intervention and ordinarily available provision.

These conversations are deeply connected.

If early intervention is truly the goal, then school readiness must be the starting point and readiness means being able to adapt as demands increase, through transitions, curriculum changes, assessments, and exams.

In this blog, I look at what the 4-tier model is trying to achieve, where it falls short developmentally, and what needs to change so readiness is built, not waited for.

January has been exceptionally busy, so I paused posting to focus on the work itself. But this was a topic I needed to write about because it sits at the intersection of my personal experience and my professional practice.

Today was one of the most powerful moments Iโ€™ve had as a teacher and neurodiversity specialist. I usually schedule my posts but this was such a beautiful moment, I HAD to post it now!

One of my students lives with anxiety, the kind that makes your whole body freeze and convinces you that you canโ€™t.

So we did something brave.

We went to Trafalgar Square with one mission:

- Find the creator of the viral โ€˜White Girl Dancingโ€™ trend

- Give him our T-shirts

- And do something completely outside her comfort zone

Not only did we FIND himโ€ฆ she walked up on her own, spoke to him, and owned the moment.

This wasnโ€™t about an influencer.

This was about courage, confidence, and rewriting the story anxiety tries to tell.

Today she realised:

+ She can be brave
+ She can be seen
+ She can do hard things

Anxiety lost today... she won!

This is what Bamboo is about.

Helping children feel brave, capable, and powerful in their own skin. ๐Ÿ’›

๐“๐ก๐ž๐ฒ'๐ซ๐ž ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค...!

I know, it's been a long time since I have created one of
these. Life has been so incredibly busy, I am creating
so many things behind the scenes. But Bamboo's
Children are back, we've met Bo, Willow and Sage -
today, you are meeting Root.

๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐˜

He doesn't say much.
But that doesn't mean he's not feeling everything.

Some children don't act out - they shut down.
They hold everything inside.
They mask. They retreat.

Root the Tortoise was created for them.
For the ones who need gentle understanding, not pressure.
For the children who feel safest in stillness.

Inclusion isn't just about noticing who's loudest.
It's about creating spaces where the quietest children feel seen - without having to shout.

Let's raise a generation who understands that silence isn't empty.
And every root matters.

The last year has transformed everything for me and for Bamboo (Elevate. Balance. Learn.).

After being named Woman Who Solopreneur of the Year 2025, two things happened almost immediately:

1. I received an invitation from Debra Ruh, CEO of Billion Strong, to serve as a Global Advisor for the worldwide disability inclusion movement, a role I am deeply honoured to accept.

2. I opened the first Bamboo (Elevate. Balance. Learn.) Hub, designed around neuro-inclusive principles and the children I work with every day.

These milestones pushed me to share something Iโ€™ve kept internal until now: the framework I first created in 2024 and have used consistently across Bamboo Learn, Bamboo Balance and Bamboo Elevate.

With ongoing delays in national SEND reform, I felt it was important to release a system that educators, families and AP providers can use now โ€” something practical, humane and research-led.

Today, I am proud to publish The Bamboo Neuro-Constructive Inclusive Systemโ„ข (2025) a design framework rooted in neuroscience, emotional regulation, cognitive psychology, neuro-affirming practice and trauma-informed principles.

If the guidance isnโ€™t coming from the top, we build it ourselves.
And thatโ€™s exactly what this white paper represents.

Itโ€™s been an absolutely whirlwind year, and Iโ€™m so incredibly grateful for all the love and support Iโ€™ve received. ๐Ÿ’–

My first book officially launched with a beautiful celebration on 4th October, and just a few days later, on 10th October, I was honoured to win Woman Who Solopreneur of the Year!

Thereโ€™s so much more in the works, and I canโ€™t wait to share the next chapter of this journey with you all. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

The love has been unreal! I honestly canโ€™t put into words how much it means to me. Thank you to everyone who has read, shared, and reached out. Your words remind me why I wrote this book in the first place: to connect, to be honest, and to make sure no one ever feels alone in their journey.

If you havenโ€™t had a chance yet, ๐‘ด๐’๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’”, ๐‘ด๐’†๐’๐’•๐’…๐’๐’˜๐’๐’” & ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’๐’๐’†๐’” is out now in paperback and Kindle. Every copy, every review, every share helps it reach the people who need it most. ๐ŸŒฑ

โœจ Itโ€™s here! ๐‘ด๐’๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’”, ๐‘ด๐’†๐’๐’•๐’…๐’๐’˜๐’๐’” & ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’๐’๐’†๐’” is now out in ๐ฉ๐š๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐›๐š๐œ๐ค ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐›๐จ๐จ๐ค โœจ

I canโ€™t describe the relief I felt when that email landed in my inbox: โ€œ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’ˆ๐’“๐’‚๐’•๐’–๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’”, ๐’š๐’๐’–๐’“ ๐’ƒ๐’๐’๐’Œ ๐’Š๐’” ๐’‘๐’–๐’ƒ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’‰๐’†๐’….โ€ After so many failed cover uploads, late nights, and endless edits, I finally held our story in my hands.

This book isnโ€™t a guide or a manual. Itโ€™s my heart on paper.
Itโ€™s the story of being a solo parent in a world that wasnโ€™t built for us.

Itโ€™s about my son - preverbal autistic, still fighting to be heard.
Itโ€™s about my daughter - learning to find her place in a journey she never asked for.
And itโ€™s about me - a mother who refused to stay quiet when everyone kept saying โ€œheโ€™s fine.โ€

๐‘ด๐’๐’“๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’”, ๐‘ด๐’†๐’๐’•๐’…๐’๐’˜๐’๐’” & ๐‘ด๐’Š๐’๐’†๐’”๐’•๐’๐’๐’†๐’” is raw, emotional, and honest. Itโ€™s the truth behind closed doors: the mornings that test you, the meltdowns that break you, and the milestones that make it all worth it.

๐Ÿ’› This book is for every parent who has ever been dismissed. For every child whose story has been overlooked. For every family who keeps going, even when the world says they canโ€™t.

๐Ÿ“– Out now โ€” in eBook and paperback.
