The workplace is changing, and so are the skills we need to thrive.

As software, automation and AI take on more routine tasks, human skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving and building relationships are becoming increasingly important.

That's why we are launching the Future Skills Challenge, a free programme designed to help people develop those skills and prepare for the future.

It starts with a skills audit, followed by a new set of practical challenges emailed each month. Participants can choose which challenges to complete, doing as much or as little as they choose. At the end, the skills audit can be repeated to measure progress.

Open to everyone. No ICB membership required.

Good payroll practice can save lives.

Payroll professionals have a responsibility that goes far beyond getting the numbers right. They need to understand the legislation, get the detail right and recognise the human factors behind the figures - making sure the right amount of money reaches the right bank account at the right time.

That’s why high-quality training matters.

As part of our National Payroll Week series, domestic abuse workplace consultant and chartered accountant Cheryl Sharp explores how payroll professionals can spot potential signs of economic abuse - and why a routine change to payroll details may not always be routine.

ICB Payroll Qualifications are designed to give payroll professionals the knowledge and skills they need to combine technical accuracy with professional judgement.
