The watermelon was so sweet and juicy, as was the sweetcorn.

Our imaginations ran wild as we explored the local woods. (Ideal in this heat!)
Would we spot the snake in its log pile house?
We navigated the tree- rooted paths, climbed logs and trees, role-played in dens, and left chalk marks so we could find our way back! 😄

The allotment is such a beautiful space to slow down and be present in the moment without the distraction of toys, noise and everyday busyness!
We looked at everything growing, discussing when they are ripe to pick, the importance of watering plants and what fruits and vegetables we enjoy eating.
We picked lots of blackberries and enjoyed baking with them and made a delicious, healthy smoothie. 😋

With children about to leave for nursery and school we have been focusing on emotions. Teaching preschoolers about emotions gives them the vocabulary to express themselves, reducing frustration and behavioral outbursts. It builds foundational emotional intelligence, allowing them to develop empathy, handle stress, and navigate social interactions and friendships more successfully.
'I feel excited to start school' expressed one child. 😊
