Fincham Press Micropublisher dedicated to sharing the work of students and alumni of the University of Roehampton.

Fincham Press made its first public appearance in April 2013, at the London Book Fair, discussing the new wave of innovation in publishing now taking place in British universities. With the first title, an anthology of student writing (March 2014), we are now working to put those ideas into practice. The aim is to add innovation in form and process to the experiments in content that already occupy so much of our teaching life. It also offers a new way for us to serve our students, past and present, in the Department of English and Creative Writing. The first two titles are student anthologies; other strands on the publishing list will focus on other things such as pedagogy, essays, creative and scholarly work.

Author video readings will be launched throughout May, culminating in an online panel discussion on the evening of Tuesday May 25, with special guests Clare Bogen and Giselle Leeb. To everyone planning to come to our March 25 book launch and writing soirée–sadly that event is now cancelled. Like many others, we are following best advice on social distancing to avoid contributing to the Covid-19 pandemic. However we do have plans for an alternative virtual event, which we will announce shortly. Meanwhile, we hope that all of our followers take care of themselves and people close to them, and we look forward to seeing you all in person at a future date.
