We are super proud of achieving second place this year, just one point from first place! Thank you to the huge dedication of our beautiful community. The energy this year was amazing. It was an honour to bring Mãe Elda’s story to the streets of London, and celebrate the legacy of an incredible, inspiring, strong matriarch and rainha of Nacão do Maracatu Porto Rico.

Congratulations to all bands who paraded. We know how much planning, time, energy and heart goes into creating carnival presentation. It was a pleasure to share the street with you all.

And thank you to NHC on its 60th anniversary for their unwavering commitment to community.

Se não for por amor, não vai pra frente! If it’s not for love, it won’t go forward.

NHC billboards campaign has returned in 2026 with twin billboards on the carnival route to honour the founding mothers of Notting Hill Carnival, Rhaune Laslett and Claudia Jones. These women were also mothers of their communities, leading, nurturing, and resisting though the celebrating of their culture. We parade at NHC 2026 to Celebrate the Legacy of Mãe Elda, and all the women who are the foundations and glue of their communities.

The billboard designs were created by Black History And Me:
