A sad post but it is now time to announce the Ealing Percussion Academy as officially closed. It's not the end entirely but for this business the time has come. It's been an amazingly rewarding 10 years of music making.
Three performances in the Royal Albert Hall. Performing on stage at Disneyland Paris. Tours to France, Germany and Belgium.
I've learnt a lot about how to run a music academy and how not run a music academy! Incredible help from Maureen at St Andrews where we rehearsed and housed all the percussion instruments over the years.
I'm proud that through my business we supported other businesses. Always paid our rent on time, safety inspections, tour companies and the list goes on behind the scenes to keeping an academy running.
My passion for music education will continue just in other projects for now.
Finally a big thank you to everyone who believed in the academy and what we did.
Farewell,
Ben, Director of Ealing Percussion Academy.
As promised here is our tour video from Germany this summer. Brilliantly filmed and edited by Evan Hobson EPA OG member.
The final tour.......for now.
So this is it, the final tour from the Ealing Percussion Academy. 10 years of music making, 3 performances in the Royal Albert Hall, tours to Paris, Germany ...

Quick Crowdfunded Update : - A big thank you again to everyone for there support in the crowdfunded. Here is what has happened so far.....
1. Helped out with funding for our bursary students covering lessons and tour fees.
2. New Mallets, a complete set of front line sticks now for all the marimbas.
3. New African Rosewood notes have been ordered, we are awaiting the import as they are shipped in once a month.
4. PA system has been fully fixed and updated for a fantastic tour.
5. New 250KG carts. Biggest thing on tour and any percussion gig is getting the equipment moved safely so these new carts will help look after everyone's backs and not tire everyone out before the gigs.
There will be a film of the final tour being made on the Germany Tour which we will be sharing on the Ealing Percussion Academy YouTube channel.
Thank you once again, it was lovely reconnecting with so many people over the years.

Absolutely blown away with the generosity from the crowd funder campaign for the academy and Germany tour this summer. £2295 raised for the bursary students and getting all the equipment back on good form. Can not wait to get over to Germany with the students and make some noise!
Great to reconnect with past families and here how the academy enriched there children’s musical education both musically and socially.
Thank you once again.

2 weeks to go.
Royal Albert Hall - Music For Youth Proms 2023 rehearsals.
The girls are working hard, whilst preparing for A-level mocks and Uni entrance exams it's great working with these students to create a memorable performance in the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
Well done to the girls for their hard work and focus during this busy time. It's gonna be a great evening and a fitting way to end your time in the Ealing Percussion Academy.

Bruges Ealing Percussion Academy Team 2023 plus a few snaps of Bruges by night while on patrol!

Here is our official collection of pictures from our 2023 Trip to Bruges. It was a truly wonderful experience for all and a shame it took us 4 years to get here since Germany 2019 but for the 16 students who believed and came along I hope they have wonderful memories now to look back on.
The two concerts had great audiences, lots of tourists asking where the students were from and amazed by how young and talented they were. The program was played with no music and featured 11 pieces. The kit list 3 Marimbas, 2 Xylophones, 2 Glocks, 2 Malletkats, 2 pedal timpani, 1 Keyboard, 1 Drum kit, Tam Tam, Orchestral Tom Toms and the most important Triangle for L.
Thank you to Duncan, an old EPA student who has worked with the academy through the year and was in charge of the kit on this trip. He's great at plugging in an electronic's box but waking up in the morning is another level challenge.
Thank you Robin and Phil for helping with the kids and being part of our trip and finally a big thank you to Chloe. Behind the scenes if you got an email with out awful english and my usual spelling mistakes it was Chloe help write them. As well as the constant head counts, bin rounds, room checks Chloe also got a consultancy business going at the front of the coach for UCAS personal statements!
Thank you Sutton FC for the charter of the coach. Without a doubt the best one ever on one of these trips and that's two in a row now for EPA tours travelling in luxury!
So that's it Bruges is done and it was bloody good. The music was great, so were the students, the place was stunning and the weather was perfect.

Well that’s it, a fantastic few days in Brugge, two great gigs and a bag full of cash to show for it! Final leg of the journey to the beach to enjoy this lovely weather but must not get sand on the coach!
