Last week our Year 7s went on their annual residential trip to Kingswood Activity Centre. We did a plethora of team-building activities and improved our confidence and problem-solving skills along the way. We had an amazing time, thank you Kingswood for hosting us 🙌

We are excited to announce our Summer Music Festival, taking place on Wednesday 21st June at 6pm on our decking outside the ILC. We have performances like 'Bohemian Rhapsody' from our Senior Choir, 'Gimme Gimme Gimme!', 'Blame it on the Boogie' from our Soul Band, 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' from our Jazz Band and many more Pop and Jazz numbers. Last week our historians went to France and Belgium to see and learn about the Battlefields of the First World War with Anglia Tours.
We saw and explored a plethora of sites from Norte Dame de Lorette, the Wellington Quarry Arras to explore the tunnels underneath the city, walked the battlefields, and explored the Ypres Salient bunkers, shell holes and trenches. We were also able to take part in the Menin Gate ceremony in the beautiful town of Ypres. Two of our pupils had relatives on the Gate and were given the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of their families and the school during the ceremony.
We had a wonderful time on our trip and are excited to put everything we learnt into our studies on our return to school.

Introducing Pier House 📣
We are very pleased to announce that we have secured a stunning addition to the facilities of Kew House School, with the opening of the Pier House extension. Pier House makes up one-half of the Fuller's building on Strand on the Green. This new building provides a further four classrooms, a flexible theatre, a dance space, and a gym. In the school’s tenth year, Pier House represents the continued increase in investment to match the needs of the school, especially now that it has reached its planned capacity of approximately 600 pupils. As can be seen from these images, the facility is being tested out by pupils and staff over the summer term. Subsequently, it will be fully integrated into our timetable from September 2023.

🎿 Easter Ski trip to Auron, France at Esf Auron 🎿
Our Year 9 and 10s have been in the French Alps enjoying the snow and lots of group activities. For some of our pupils, this is their first time skiing and they have quickly picked up confidence and speed during lessons with the ski instructors. While some of our pupils are both advanced and intermediate and had a go at off-piste skiing. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to share all our stories on our return home.
