In ancient China, a year was not only divided into 4 seasons, but into 24 solar terms that marked significant events in the calendar. Events such as ‘Awakening of Insects’ and ‘End of Heat’ were crucial for agrarian societies to stay synchronised with the seasons. This was the starting point for ‘s graduation collection; a collection of casual shoes aimed at the Chinese market’s younger generation.
chose the 24 Solar Terms not only for the importance in nature, but also the rich cultural connotations that came with it - a culture close to ’s heart.
Textured animal skin and soft-flowing cloud patterns inspired the designs, while contemporary materials added to a modern look.
While the concept was drawn from ancient history, the methodology for creating the designs utilised sophisticated software: Modelling 3D designs in Blender, advanced through added plugins, then rendering with an oil paint texture to re-connect it with the ancient inspiration.

Inspired by the raw settings of the underground electronic music scene, ’s collection celebrates the communal and healing aspects of raving: “Places where boundaries are broken and spirits are freed, where the masses move as one to the relentless beat of techno”.
Gloria’s aim was to create comfort-driven shoes without compromising style. “Too often, a choice has to be made between wearing beautiful yet uncomfortable shoes or toning down to prioritize comfort and endurance during long weekends out. With this in mind, the collection also represents the diverse individuals who grace our dance floors and make the space what it is”. The final range showcases nine gender-neutral silhouettes with inclusive sizing split into 3 categories: style, performance, and recovery.
Two silhouettes were handmade, mixing traditional shoemaking for the uppers and modern 3D modelling and printing technologies for the soles.

Today we are featuring our second winner showcase features the work of 2nd year student ❤️
She wrote this about her sleek collection:
The topic chosen for this project is France in 1970s and her affection for the cherry colour. Dark red happened to be a statement colour not only for France at that time, where it was often used for the red lips, cars, furniture etc. but also, it's a statement colour for Russell & Bromley as their cherry dyed Marry Janes became one of their bestsellers. First ideas for the colour palette were found through the primary research taken from the day in the Portrait National Gallery giving first ideas for the dark red with golden brown inspired by the walls of the gallery.
We think you'll agree it oozes sophistication 👠

Our first winner showcase features the work of 2nd year student ❤️
She wrote this about her sleek collection. 'The creative process drew personal inspiration from extensive research into bespoke tailoring, particularly focusing on the G80 Bespoke line by the Korean automotive brand Genesis. The goal was to create a distinctive silhouette by skilfully combining elements of suit design. The incorporation of leather plugging on the front tongue drew inspiration from the symmetry and beauty of suit details, reflecting traditional British suit sensibilities in a modern and unique manner.
For the 2024 Fall/Winter collection, the final design choice was the fitted boots featuring a zipper on the inner side of the shoes for ease of wear. These boots boast soft and pliable leather, ensuring comfort from the exterior to the inner lining also 5.5cm height of heel so not make wearer feet are uncomfortable . The design strikes a delicate balance, offering a style that is neither overly lightweight nor overly formal, incorporating thoughtful details inspired by suits.'
