📣📣 Calling London KS2 teachers!

Join our ambitious new project for London Primary Schools entitled An Animated History of London.

We are preparing a funding application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a 2 year history themed animation project for London primary schools.

Designed for Key Stage 2, schools will receive 6 free stop motion animation workshops per class (up to 2 classes per school), and a free workshop at one of our partner London Museums.

Children will explore London’s rich and varied heritage through museum visits and research lessons in school, bringing their findings to life through stop‑motion animation using paper cut‑out techniques.

The end of the project will culminate in a fantastic celebratory screening at a major cinema in London.

Our partner museums will act as a regional London hub for the schools, and final themes will be decided when all the schools are on board.

Confirmed partner museums include:

Bruce Castle Museum – Haringey
The Cinema Museum – Southwark
Brixton Windmill – Lambeth
The Grant Museum of Zoology – Westminster

Building on our successfully funded heritage project last year that took place in Enfield, this is a totally free project with all costs and materials covered.

To register your interest please fill in the form on our website here: https://www.animatingeducation.co.uk/london-heritage-project by 8th May 2026.

Hope to hear from you!

Big news for 2026/27!

We are absolutely delighted to share that we have been awarded funding from The Tudwick Foundation to make our Leigh-on-Sea courses even more inclusive. This support will fund 30 free places for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan and or those receiving Pupil Premium, helping us remove barriers and ensure more young people can access high quality creative opportunities. Booking details coming soon.

We are also thrilled to confirm funding from Fowler Smith and Jones Trust to launch our new intergenerational project, Frame of Reference. In partnership with The Haven Community Hub, this exciting programme will bring different generations together to explore personal histories in Southend through creative storytelling and animation.

Alongside this, we are excited to launch Southend Animated in April, supported by the Community Investment Board. Through this project, we will create original stop motion animation films inspired by young people's lived experiences of the city. From personal stories to reflections on place, identity and belonging, these films celebrate Southend through the voices of the young people who know it best.

We are incredibly grateful to our funders for investing in inclusive, community led creativity. 2026/27 is already shaping up to be a powerful year of storytelling and we CANNOT WAIT to help shape it.

Watch this space for more updates.
