Julie Turner is a dedicated primary teacher with a wealth of experience and a passion for nurturing young minds. Armed with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specialising in primary education, Julie has been shaping the educational landscape since 2011. Her journey in education has seen her traverse through various roles and responsibilities, including teaching years 1 through 5 in three distinct school environments and assuming the mantle of a year group leader.

Driven by her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to unlock their full potential, Julie now offers group tuition services aimed at primary school students. Whether a child is just beginning their journey into literacy or seeking to refine their skills, Julie provides a supportive and enriching environment where each student can flourish. Through engaging lessons, personalized attention, and a nurturing atmosphere, Julie empowers her students to develop the confidence and competence they need to succeed academically and beyond. Being a parent herself, she understands that life is busy. She knows if a parent doesn’t have the knowledge or expertise to support their child themselves then being able to entrust a caring and patient professional to support their child is paramount.

Taking part in lesson study focusing on reluctant writers, enabled her to see the specific barriers for writers in KS2 and how to overcome these.

Hi, I'm Julie, a very experienced primary school teacher and tutor. I understand how to support children in their learning and to thrive.

I have worked in North London primary schools as a teacher since 2013 and was previously a teaching assistant before that. I have been tutoring since 2016. My experience ranges from teaching years 1 up to year 6 and tutoring from years 2-6 including for the 11+. I am available to tutor English, Reading and Writing as well as Maths at primary school level. I am calm, patient and passionate about making learning fun. As a mum and a teacher I understand that every child has different needs and tailor my lessons accordingly.

My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Sociology and Primary PGCE with QTS status.
