Our first trip this academic year is already in the books! Swipe to see what we found particularly interesting in the ‘Making of Rodin’ exhibition.
Also, this upcoming Monday (15/11) we’ll also be having a discussion with Natasha Ruiz-Gomez, so if you wanna ask any questions, whether they are exhibition related or more general in nature (maybe you’d like to find out about Natasha’s career path, for example). So anyone is welcome, even if you didn’t manage to visit Tate Modern with us.

The Art History Society takes Tate Modern!
With our very first museum trip we decided to aim high and visit one of the biggest museums the UK has to offer - Tate Modern.
The reason for this decision is twofold: 1) To see the highly praised ‘The Making of Rodin’ exhibition, which aims to showcase how truly radical was the influential French sculptor Auguste Rodin, whose practice ushered sculpture into the modern era; 2) The ability to later discuss our impressions with Natasha Ruiz-Gómez, senior lecturer of University’s School of Philosophy and Art History, a Rodin scholar who also has an essay in the exhibition’s catalogue.
All further information regarding the meet up place will be in our WhatsApp group chat, so (if you aren’t part of the group already) send a DM and we’ll be sure to add you!

With Fresher’s Week already in the past, we would like to thank all the new members for joining the society!
As we can’t wait to properly meet every single one of you, we decided that the best way to break the ice would be a friendly yet competitive (and art history related, of course) quiz.
So meet us this Wednesday (20th of October) and who knows, maybe you’ll be able to walk out with a prize in your pocket and a slightly increased self-esteem.
We’ll also be sending out an email with the room number as soon as the SU gives us one, so be sure you’re a registered member (link in our bio; and, once again, our membership is completely FREE) so that we’ll know where to send our message to.
See you very soon

After a rather lethargic summer the Art History Society comes fully reinvigorated to provide you with the events and, even more importantly, a community of like-minded art enthusiasts for you to spend your time with!
As physical interaction is finally a possibility, we can’t wait to meet both current and potential members of the AHS! Matter of fact, tomorrow (10-07) is the perfect chance to do so as SPAH is organising an informal social event for ALL Art History students, which is going to be followed by the launch party of a new exhbition ‘Breathing the Light’. So consider yourself double-invited!
The AHS is going to be there, so come by, say hello and learn about some of the things we plan on doing this year!

Hi, I'm Finn a second year Art History student and my position in the society is Covid Officer. I will try my best to fulfil this role. We all know how important it is to stay safe in these tough times and I will strive to make sure that we comply to government restrictions and advice during events organised by the society. All three of the works I have chosen for my profile are incredibly important to me and I can't wait to talk to you about your favourite works.

Hello everyone! My name is Povilas, I’m a second year Art History student and the Secretary/Social Media Officer of the Art History Society. I aim to create an engaging and informative social media space, therefore you can expect our Instagram and Facebook to be focused on providing you with various art-related news, events and original content that might be of interest to (hopefully) most of you. Art History Society for me is, primarily, a place to meet new people and have my perspective broadened by these new interactions. I’m also a huge Kanye West fan, so if you are as well, we might become best friends.
