We are pioneers in intergenerational learning. Our children have a wide and varied curriculum, at the heart of it is our intergenerational activities.
The children have many special moments with their grand friends. They are immersed in generations and are well balanced children by the end of their time with us. It helps combat loneliness and gives their friends a reason for being as this article in the SWlondoner explains.
We are featured alongside Nightingale Hammerson (the home we are based in) and AHN Intergenerational Education and Training who provide education to care home staff and early years staff who wish implement intergenerational practice.
Social prescribing should be for everyone.

“What happens when generations come together?”
It’s more magical than you might imagine.
When a child hugs an older adult, the world seems to stop for a moment. But intergenerational practice is about so much more than heartwarming moments like these.
It’s about:
1️⃣ Building meaningful connections across generations.
2️⃣ Tackling loneliness and isolation in older adults.
3️⃣ Creating life-changing learning experiences for children.
4️⃣ Building empathy, understanding, and a sense of community.
At Apples and Honey Nightingale, we see the transformative power of these relationships every day—and the smiles and hugs are just the beginning.
This picture captures a profound truth: bringing generations together doesn’t just benefit the individuals involved; it strengthens communities as a whole.
