And just like that, we’re waving goodbye to another fantastic Year 11 cohort!
HoY 11 Ms Bell had one final piece of advice:
“Good luck… and don’t come back tomorrow!” 😅😂
(We think she might miss them really…)

Year 12 took on the Brecon Beacons in some seriously tough conditions — snow, torrential rain and wind. Don’t let these sunny photos fool you! One of the more challenging practice tours but they’ll be well prepared for July, that’s for sure 💪
Huge effort from everyone, you smashed it 👏

📚📖 World Book Day Week
Last week we celebrated reading a range of exciting events.
Year 7 & 8 students received a token to exchange for a free book at our lunchtime library book sale. They also got creative colouring their own bookmarks 🖍️
We were also delighted to welcome authors Dan Freedman and Alexandra Shepphard for inspiring talks and Q&As, joined by visiting students from neighbouring primary schools and ✨
Thanks to everyone involved in making it such a fantastic week celebrating the joy of reading and writing!

Skinners’ Academy presents...
Refugee Boy
Alem grows up at a time of violent civil war in Ethiopia. When he is fourteen, he escapes to England under the pretext of a holiday with his father. Alem is then left to navigate life in London: the care system, secondary school, relationships, grief and a court case for legal status.
We are performing Sissay’s adaptation of Zephaniah novel written in 2001 - 25 years ago.
Today, this story is just as relevant.
As Zephaniah said, “When I hear politicians saying that we are being ‘flooded’ with refugees, I always remind myself that each refugee is a person. A person who for some reason has left everything they know and love to find safety in a strange and sometimes hostile land.”

Big ideas in the making 💡
Last week our students launched their Young Enterprise journey — forming teams, creating leadership structures, learning the rules of the programme and bringing their first business ideas to life with company names and logos.
The Young Enterprise programme in the UK helps students develop enterprise, employability and financial skills through practical business experience. By running a real company, students gain insight into how markets operate and how decisions affect performance.
We can’t wait to see where they go next 🚀

Ruqayya (Y9) designed this artwork, hiding clues inside each letter to spell a secret word. Incredible attention to detail 🎨🧠
Can you crack it? 👀 ⬇️

Our school panto returned with a bang this year 🎭✨ All year groups got to watch a brilliant performance of A Christmas Carol, with the leading role of Debenezer Scrooge played by our Principal, Ms Jacob — the perfect way to end the term!
