Happy Easter Holidays! 🐣🥚🥰

Our nursery is now closed for two weeks, and we will reopen on Monday 13th April 2026. 🌸🌟
We’ve had a wonderful week celebrating Spring and Easter. The children have been busy taking part in lots of fun activities, including making chocolate nests, going on an Easter egg hunt, and creating beautiful cards for their families.

✨ For the chocolate nests, we used shredded wheat and melted chocolate. The children loved mixing the ingredients together and spooning the mixture into mini cupcake cases. Each nest was finished with a little chick, ready to take home in their Easter baskets!

✨ During our Easter egg hunt, the Easter Bunny hid eggs all around the nursery. The children had great fun searching high and low—looking over, under, and inside different places. “Could it be under the table?” “Is it on the bookshelf?” There was lots of excitement as they explored and discovered the hidden eggs.

✨ It’s been a fantastic end to the week, full of fun, creativity, and smiles.

We wish you all a lovely Easter break with your family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the Summer term, with many more adventures and fun ahead!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛🦋💚

The children have shown a great interest in the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. To build on this interest, we enjoyed a variety of fun activities that helped us revisit the story through play and creativity. 🥰🌟

✨ Caterpillar Finger Printing:
The children used paint and their fingers to create colourful fingerprints to make the caterpillar’s body. Each section included a number, giving the children the opportunity to practise their counting while developing their creativity and fine motor skills.

✨ Small World Sensory Tray:
The children had lots of fun exploring our small world sensory tray filled with green rice and flash cards. They used the small caterpillars to feed them different foods from the story, encouraging imaginative play and helping the children recall and retell parts of the story.

Well done to all the children! 🌸

🍕 Yummy Pizza Toasties Fun! 🥰
Our children had a fantastic time making their own yummy pizza toasties! They really enjoyed being involved in preparing their snack.
First, the children carefully spread tomato sauce onto their toast. Then they added a variety of healthy and colourful toppings including pineapple, peppers, tomatoes and tasty cheese. Everyone loved choosing their favourite ingredients and creating their own delicious pizza toasties. 🫑🧀❤️

Once they were ready, we placed them in the oven to bake, and soon the room was filled with the lovely smell of freshly made pizza toasties! The children then enjoyed eating them for their snack. 😋

It was a fun activity that encouraged independence, creativity and trying healthy foods, and the children were very proud of the tasty snack they had made themselves.🌟

✨ ❤️ What a fantastic week of celebrations and creativity we’ve had at nursery! ✨🩷
The children have been busy exploring Chinese New Year and Pancake Day through a range of exciting, hands‑on activities that encouraged imagination, curiosity and lots of joyful play. 🥰

🎉 Chinese New Year Fun
To welcome the Year of the Horse, the children took part in several themed activities: 🐴

🇨🇳❤️ Chinese New Year Sensory Tray:
Our sensory tray was filled with bright red spaghetti, and the children loved using chopsticks to pick it up, squish it, and explore the texture. They also had mini horses on sticks and enjoyed pretending to feed them, sparking imaginative play and fine motor skills.

🪭🎨Traditional Chinese Fans:
The children created their own beautiful Chinese fans, decorating them with paint, Chinese stickers, patterns, sequins and plenty of glitter. Each fan was unique and full of colour.

💌 🥰 Chinese New Year Cards:
Using their own drawings and mark‑making, the children designed special New Year cards. They decorated the outside with sequins, glitter and Chinese‑themed labels, proudly creating something meaningful to take home.

🍜 😋 Chinese Buffet Tasting:
To round off the celebrations, the children were invited to sample a delicious Chinese buffet. They enjoyed trying egg fried rice, chow mein, chicken and spring rolls — lots of happy faces and adventurous taste‑testing.

🥞💛 Pancake Day Creativity:
For Pancake Day, the children made their own pretend pancakes using craft materials. They chose their favourite toppings and stuck them on with glue, creating some wonderfully imaginative (and very colourful!) pancake designs.

🌟 It’s been a joyful week full of learning, exploration and celebration. We’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children have been. Thank you to all our families for your continued support — we love sharing these special moments with you. 🥰💞

💖 Spreading Love & Happiness This Valentine’s Day 💖

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at nursery! ❤️
Over the past week, our children have been celebrating love, kindness, happiness and positivity through a range of thoughtful and exciting activities. We’ve had lots of lovely discussions about who we love – our families, friends, pets and teachers – and how we can show love and care to others. 🥰♥️

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been busy doing:
❤️ Love Potions & Love Drinks
Our sensory “love potion” station was a huge hit! Filled with petals, red glitter, coloured water, and lots of pots and pans, the children enjoyed mixing, pouring and creating their own magical love potions.
This activity was not only lots of fun and wonderfully messy, but it also supported their imagination, creativity and fine motor skills. The sensory elements encouraged exploration, curiosity and language development as they described their sparkly creations.

🧁 Making Love Cupcakes
The children became little bakers as they spread icing onto their fairy cakes and decorated them with lots of heart-shaped sprinkles.
This activity was fantastic for developing hand-eye coordination and independence, and of course, it was very exciting to create something special to share with someone they love.

💗 Coloured Chickpea Sensory Play
Our large sensory tray filled with red and pink stained chickpeas was another favourite. The children loved scooping, pouring and pretending to make meals and treats for their families and friends.

It has been such a heartwarming week, filled with smiles, laughter and meaningful conversations.
Wishing all of our wonderful families a Valentine’s Day filled with love and happiness. 💕

🎄 Spreading Christmas Cheer in Our Community - Visit to local care home🎄
This week our children had a truly special visit to a local care home, where they delivered Christmas hampers to the residents. The hampers were kindly made possible through generous donations from our wonderful parents — thank you so much for your support. They were filled with lots of lovely items such as pasta, biscuits, tea bags and other tasty treats.
The children had a fantastic time sharing the festive spirit by singing and dancing to Christmas songs, bringing lots of smiles and joy to the residents. ❤️🎅✉️ Special Delivery to the North Pole! ✉️🎅🎄
17/12/2025

Today the Preschool children were full of festive excitement as the children took part in a magical “Letters to Santa” activity! With big smiles and lots of imagination, the children wrote (and marked!) their very own letters to Santa before carefully posting them into our post box, ready for their journey to the North Pole ❄️📮
The letters were full of wonderful wishes — from puzzles and toys to one very ambitious request for a Volkswagen car! 🚗🎁 It was a joy to see the children expressing their ideas, sharing their Christmas wishes, and having so much fun along the way.
This activity was a fantastic mark-making opportunity, supporting early writing skills, hand–eye coordination, creativity, and confidence in expressing thoughts and ideas — all while enjoying the magic of Christmas ✨✍️

🌲❄️ Winter Fun at Nursery ❄️🥰

We have had such a lovely few days at nursery, enjoying lots of exciting winter-themed activities together! The children have been fully engaged, exploring, playing and learning through hands-on experiences. Here are some of the fun activities we have been doing:

☃️☃️ Winter Sensory Tray
The children explored our winter sensory tray filled with snowmen, tinsel, baubles and mini Christmas trees. This encouraged imaginative play while developing their senses as they touched, explored and talked about the different textures and objects.

🐾🐾 Visit to Pets at Home
We also enjoyed a visit to Pets at Home, where the children loved seeing the cute pets. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about animals, practise good listening skills and talk about caring for living things.

🌲🚂 Christmas Train – Small World Play
Our Christmas train small-world setup was very popular! The children played with train tracks in a snowy village, using their imagination to help the elves deliver presents. This supported teamwork, storytelling and fine motor skills.

❄️❄️ Sensory Tuff Tray – Snow Play
The children had great fun with our sensory tuff tray using shaving foam, pretending it was snow. They enjoyed feeling the different texture, squishing and spreading it, which helped develop sensory awareness and creativity.

It has been wonderful to see so many happy faces and to share in the excitement of winter together! 💙

🎄❄️ Happy Tuesday, everyone! 🎄🥰

We’ve had such a lovely, festive day at the nursery! This morning, the children were full of excitement as we put up our Christmas tree together. They took turns choosing their favourite baubles, hanging tinsel, and adding lots of colour and sparkle. It was wonderful to see how proud they were of their decorating skills — the tree looks beautiful thanks to their hard work! ✨
Later on, we were joined by Tiny Mites for a fun and energetic music session. The children sang along to Christmas songs, played instruments, and enjoyed dancing with their friends. The room was full of laughter, movement, and festive cheer. 🎶🎅
