Only a couple of weeks left until our next Advanced Paediatric PoCUS course on 30 June.

The course covers lung, cardiac and abdominal ultrasound. It builds on foundational skills and focuses on:

• Systematic scanning approaches
• Qualitative assessment of function and pathology
• Understanding what measurements are possible and when they are appropriate
• Recognising the limits of paediatric PoCUS
• Using ultrasound findings to support safe clinical decision-making
The emphasis is not simply on “more scanning” — but on better clinical judgement.

Many doctors who complete CACTUS or another basic paediatric ultrasound course reach a point where they want to keep developing their skills — but finding local supervision or mentorship can be difficult.

We’ve been running our CACTUS course for three years, and a couple of weeks ago we held our first Advanced Paediatric PoCUS course.

This course is designed for clinicians who already have a foundation in paediatric ultrasound and want to build greater confidence, consistency and clinical judgement in lung, cardiac and abdominal scanning.
