Bromley Emergency Courses

Bromley Emergency Courses has been providing short intensive emergency medicine courses for clinicians since 2005. We also offer online videos for PLAB 2.

Since then, the company has helped more than 23,000 doctors prepare for MRCEM/FRCEM exams and master point-of-care ultrasound skills. Run by Emergency Physicians for Emergency Physicians we provide the highest quality Emergency Medicine (EM) education and training. Bromley Emergency Courses has been providing face-to-face and online RCEM training and Ultrasound courses for doctors since 2005. We focus on point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS), MRCEM and FRCEM exams. Our PoCUS ultrasound courses cover the curriculum for RCEM (Core Ultrasound), plus various other PoCUS courses for emergency settings. We have a wide range of US systems (including hand-helds), phantoms and scannable simulators. We have a large faculty of practising clinicians. For the MRCEM/FRCEM examinations we have developed intensive short training courses based on a detailed analysis of the curriculum and extensive knowledge of the exams. We have a strong team of actors for OSCE courses and a high-quality teaching faculty. Our online resources have been built by a strong team of actors for these OSCE courses and a teaching faculty with specific PLAB 2 skills.

Working towards RCEM Entrustment Scale 4 in PoCUS?

Building evidence of your ultrasound competence can be challenging, particularly when it’s difficult to arrange workplace-based assessments such as DOPS.

That’s why we offer dedicated Ultrasound Scanning Sessions with DOPS assessment.

During the session, an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant will observe you undertaking a specified ultrasound examination and provide an entrustment score (2a, 2b, 3 or 4) based on the competence you demonstrate.

Important:
• You must have your logbook completed before attending.
• Achieving Entrustment Scale 4 depends on your readiness and demonstrated competence during the assessment.

A quick last-minute tip: Look out for distractor patterns in the questions. Common examples include:
• A correct treatment, but at the wrong time
• A correct test, but not the next appropriate test
• A sensible action, but not the safest action
