Peer Assisted Learning - PAL

BL Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) is a peer teaching society.

Years 1 & 2:
PAL is a one-to-one peer tutoring support system for students in Years 1 & 2 who fail their exams at medical school, running since 2011. PAL offers academic support to these students through weekly, one-to-one, confidential tutoring sessions led by senior medical students. The sessions are tailored towards the student’s needs and the sessions continue till the end of year exams

Years 3 & 4:
PAL also run weekly tutorials for Year 3 students in clinical medicine, to supplement their teaching on placements while offering teaching opportunities to senior students. (Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) will be running small-group tutorials for Year 3 students, taught by Year 4 and Year 5 students in the Garrod Building, Whitechapel. The tutorials, which have received excellent feedback in the past, will go over the major objectives in each of your modules. You can sign up here:

PAL organise revision crash courses for Year 3 and Year 4 medical students before their ICAs and end of year exams.

🎉 We are recruiting TUTEEs for this academic year.

BL Peer Assisted Learning Society (PALS) will be running small-group tutorials for medical students. You and your tutor(s) will discuss and agree on the frequency and topics of the tutoring session which should be tailored to your needs. These sessions can be delivered remotely e.g. via Zoom or in person based on your personal preference. The tutors will be able to answer any questions you may have or help you with any topic you may struggle with.
