Last night, our school community came together for our second annual Iftar — a beautiful evening of unity, reflection and togetherness during the blessed month of Ramadan.
We enjoyed a rich and varied programme filled with poems, recitals and prayers, before joining in the breaking of the fast and sharing a meal as one community. 🌙✨
The event was open to all, regardless of faith or background, and offered a meaningful opportunity to learn more about Ramadan, foster mutual understanding and strengthen the bonds that connect us.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, or helped make the evening so special. 💛

✨ World Book Day 2026 – What a celebration! 📚🎉
Students and staff had an amazing time yesterday marking World Book Day in true Plumstead Manor style! Many departments transformed their spaces with creative decorations, and colleagues dressed up for the Year 7 literary treasure hunt — throughout the school students found and identified as many characters and books as they could. 🔍✨
Our Years 8 & 9 students flexed their creativity in a special writing competition, while we proudly launched both our ‘Poetry by Heart’ event and a brand‑new extra‑curricular club, ‘For the Love of Literature’, open to Years 10–13. ✒️📖
It was a brilliant whole‑school effort — everyone got involved, joined in the fun, and made the day one to remember! ❤️📚

🌟 Our Year 12 Enterprise Students Pitch at Parliament! 🌟
We’re incredibly proud of our Year 12 Enterprise group, who were recently invited by the charity Young Enterprise to the Houses of Parliament to pitch their profit‑making business ideas in a House of Commons committee room. They were so successful they were featured in an article in The Times!
As one of only four schools across London selected for the final, our students developed a business idea, created a real product, and traded as a functioning company before presenting their work directly to government representatives.
The event was hosted by Blair McDougall, Small Business Minister, who praised the energy and creativity of all the young entrepreneurs, describing their enthusiasm as “intoxicating.”
📣 The students also took to the stage at the Old Spitalfields Market Trade Fair, delivering a speech to Young Enterprise’s corporate sponsors—including the CEO—where they impressed with their strong market insights and commitment to sustainability.
💡 Our team pitched ‘Standly’ – a sustainable photostand made from eco‑friendly materials. Partnering with a UK‑based bamboo grower, they produced and sold their product, raising over £500 through their enterprise.
We couldn’t be prouder of their innovation, professionalism, and drive. A huge thank‑you to Young Enterprise for giving our students such an inspiring platform! 🌱✨

🤖 Programmed robots, getting hands-on with the fundamentals of coding
🏗️ Explored engineering, designing and building structures capable of supporting weight
🔍 Used forensic techniques, including fingerprint analysis
➗ Applied mathematical equations to tackle practical, problem-solving tasks
Each activity showcased how Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are connected and used across a wide range of industries. The sessions were lively, interactive, and designed to spark curiosity—and they certainly delivered!
Many students shared how enjoyable, insightful, and inspiring the experience was, with several saying it helped them see STEM in an entirely new light.

Help us to inspire the next generation!
As one of only three state-maintained secondary schools in the borough, we are proud to serve a vibrant and diverse community of students. Many of our young people face barriers to accessing aspirational experiences outside of school, and we are committed to changing that. We believe that real-world insight, encouragement, and connection can be life-changing—and that’s where you come in.
We’re inviting professionals, alumni, and community friends to help us broaden our students’ horizons. Whether you’re able to give a talk, offer work experience, share your journey or help as part of our Parent and Friend Association, your involvement can make a lasting impact.
If you’re interested in supporting our mission to empower and uplift, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch today [email protected] and help us build brighter futures.

We were thrilled to take 60 of our Year 10 and 12 students to an inspiring Women in STEM event, delivered in partnership with NatWest Bank and Accenture. The day provided an incredible opportunity for our young learners to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—and to see what success looks like for women in these fields. Plumstead Manor's Maths, Science, and Business departments worked collaboratively and used transferrable cross-curricular skills to create an engaging STEM Experience Day for our students—a truly wonderful event.
