Miss French, Miss Swindley, Miss Green and Mr Courtney interviewed our year 5 and 6 children this week as part of the selection process for our librarian positions.

💛We were very impressed with the passion they showed for reading and their eloquent answers. Well done!

In year 2 we have been busy in DT learning about which structures and shapes make a stable bridge. Using scrap paper, we experimented with different designs to see which ones would hold the weight of a glue stick across two pencil pots.

At first, it seemed impossible! We tried making pillars to emulate a beam bridge and, while this worked, it wasn't stable enough. Eventually, we tried folding triangles into our paper and were amazed to see that the addition of this shape made the bridge really strong!

We had so much fun building our bridges - why don't you have a go at home?
