Carnival 🎉💛🌍
This week we began our Carnival preparations. We began by celebrating our wonderful
diverse world through music, movement and colourful carnival fun.

🇿🇦We explored the continent of Africa, discovering its vibrant sounds, sights, tastes and animals — from elephants to cheetahs! 🐘🦁🦒

🪘We warmly welcomed Mango Tree Music, filling our day with joyful rhythms, and a huge thank‑you to one of our amazing parents who shared an exciting djembe drum experience with the children. 🪘💛

📍Our older children visited Lewisham Market, exploring fresh fruits and vegetables from many cultures around the world. 🍉🥭🌽 we loved seeing all the colours, smells and busy market life.

As part of Pride, we celebrated being proud of who we are. Creating beautiful hearts of different sizes and colours reminding us we all have similarities and differences just like a rainbow 🌈💖

*Brilliant Bee’s 🐝 *
We have been busy exploring different types of bees — including worker bees, honey bees, and garden bees — and examined the clever hexagon shapes in honeycomb, using new maths language to describe what we saw.
We loved pretending to be bees, flying from flower to flower to learn about pollination. This playful learning links beautifully with the EYFS, supporting early maths, communication, and understanding of the natural world.

We started the week by proudly joining the Crazy Socks campaign to celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Day. We wore bright, odd socks to represent the extra third copy of chromosome 21, reminding us that we are all different and wonderfully unique.
