Energy & Commodities Society The society aims to be a platform for students to expose themselves to the energy and commodities markets.

Throughout the year, the society promises to bring industry experts to talk about a variety of current energy-related market affairs. The events will be hosted on campus and will provide the students with an ideal opportunity to learn about the industry and network with its experts. We want to make use of the diverse networks in the school and therefore encourage every member to contribute to the

society. This can be done by proposing interesting talk topics and suggesting possible speakers. In addition to the industry expert talks, members will be encouraged to attend regular informal events, where someone from the society will elaborate on their past industry experience.

The copper market is facing two or three years more of pain, though the good news for the metal, which hit a six-year low this week, is that it will recover faster than other commodities, according to Rio Tinto Group.
