YEAR 10 SHINE IN BEIJING

Just before the summer break, our current Year 10 students made a trip of a lifetime: a fantastic two-week intensive study Summer Camp in Beijing. Throughout their visit, the students enjoyed practising and using their Mandarin every day, as well as immersing themselves in both the traditional and modern culture of China.

THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR!
It's been an incredible year for our wonderful St Mary Magdalene Academy students. They have risen to meet every challenge with enthusiasm and kindness. They have shown incredible focus and resilience, wholeheartedly thrown themselves into exciting extra-curricular opportunities, and excelled in drama, arts and sports.

Pictured below:
• 'The Talent Show Must Go On' – a fantastic cast of 60 performers (including our highest ever proportion of SEND students) gave us an evening of pure joy, in a celebration of inclusivity, creativity and community.

• Last week's brilliant Sports Day was the icing on the sports cake after a year in which they won so many regional trophies – and our first EVER national trophy.

• In one of many trips, Sixth Form economists visited the Bank of England where a highlight was lifting a surprisingly heavy solid gold bar!

• Another great Activities Week, with students learning new skills - from canoeing to clay-time – building their confidence, and having fun in the fresh air.

• And a fond farewell to Class of 2026 at a magical and memorable Leavers' Cruise on the River Thames.

From all at St Mary Magdalene Academy, we wish the very best of good luck to students who are awaiting exam results. And to our students, families, staff and community: thank you for all your support and hard work this year, we wish everyone a peaceful and happy summer.

SMMA brought the heat to an already incredibly warm day at Sports Day 2026. All pupils showed champion competitive and team spirit. This year, we're crowning Africa House the champions of Sports Day. Congratulations to all who represented them and to their house captains, Nora and Bilal!

Uniform This Week

The week is expected to be very hot, so from Tuesday until the end of the week students do not need to wear their blazers or ties. Shirts can be untucked and top buttons undone. Definitely no jumpers needed!

YEAR 9 IN AN UNFORGETTABLE ANATOMY WORKSHOP

Our Year 9 students have had an unforgettable 'Exploring Anatomy' workshop this term, diving into the world of clinical science with Sam Piri, aka The Dissection Guy. 60 students spent a morning doing hands-on practical work and examining real specimens to study the brain, respiratory system, and heart. The students absolutely loved the interactive experience, and tackled advanced biological concepts with incredible maturity and curiosity. It was a fantastic session that not only brought their science lessons to life but also left our future doctors, vets, and healthcare practitioners feeling inspired! You can see more pictures below.
