Watching from the wings.
You can learn so much about your art by observing others. My personal heroes were Nureyev, and Baryshnikov, who both left Russia to build phenomenal careers with the worlds best ballet companies. Back home, as a young dancer with the Kirov (Maryinsky) Ballet I learned so much, both off and on stage from dancers such as, Konstantin Zaklinsky, and Sergei Berezhnoi (who was my teacher and also my mentor).
