Hi all…. Please come down to the car boot sale this Saturday 8th July between 11-3pm at Oxlease Methodist church. Little lions are hoping to have a stall, selling dressing up clothes, toys, potty’s and putting on some craft activities (providing we can man the stall, as sadly there has been a bereavement in the family of who was planning on running it). All proceeds raised at the car boot sale will go towards a new heating system for the building. Spread the word and bring your friends and family to support your nursery.
Thank you xx
Hopefully your children may have spoken to you about the caterpillars and butterflies that we had at nursery. We watched them eat lots of fruit, build their cocoons and eventually turn into butterflies. As a group, we then released them into the wild. It’s a lovely thing for the children to watch and learn about. They all thoroughly enjoyed it, each day excited to see if they have changed yet. Now when we see butterflies in the garden they sometimes ask if it’s one of our butterflies-we like to think it is! Lol x
Here are some of our activities from the past couple of weeks. As you can imagine, there has been a lot of water play, to keep the children cool in the hot weather!
We always set up our nursery with a variety of activities to engage the children, support them with sharing and then taking, empower them to have their own ideas and to challenge their thinking. Have a look and see what you think x
Dear parents/carers
A reminder - we have individual school photos being taken tomorrow. If your child does not attend on Tuesdays and you would like photos to be taken, please phone/text and we can book an appointment. Thanks Little Lions team
Here are some of our activities from last week. Our theme has been propel who help us, focusing on the fire brigade and dentists.
Plus a picture of our first butterfly that has transformed from a caterpillar. The children have loved watching, talking and learning about their life cycle and transformation. Soon they will be able to release them all into the wild!
Some photos of today’s activities.
Dear parents and carers,
We are learning about the upcoming Coronation this week. We have been busy today starting some of our art activities. 🎨
There has been a lot of ‘tea parties’ and ‘picnics’ today too! The children will be helping to make cucumber sandwiches tomorrow for snack, spreading butter and cutting fruit. We also have some party treats to enjoy during snack times this week. 😋
The children and staff are welcome to wear clothes with red, white, and/or blue to join in the celebrations this week too. 👑🇬🇧
Reminder
We will be closed on Thursday 4th May 2023 as the building is being used as a polling station for the elections.
Morning everyone, here are some of todays activities and some from the last couple of weeks.
Please remember this Friday is our last day before the Easter break. We hope you all enjoy your time at home xx
Just a reminder World Book Day is this coming Thursday.
We have a variety of dressing up outfits available if your child would like to wear one of our outfits on the day. Please speak to a member of the team to arrange. Thanks

The real story behind the life of an Early Years Teacher...
As well as teaching children to learn through play, we have to recognise issues in child development, liaise with speech & language, psychologists and psychiatrists, teachers, therapists, undertake 2 year progress checks, be first aid trained, identify special or additional needs, cater for dietary and health requirements, manage complex family issues, look for signs of extremism and terrorism, safeguarding and child protections issues, drugs, alcohol & mental health issues, domestic violence, health and safety requirements, undertaking risk assessments, substances hazardous to health, infection control, food hygiene. To adhere to Ofsted, the Local Authority, Environmental Health and the Health Protection agency. We plan, observe and assess children based on their characteristics of effective learning, we see schemas in their play and plan appropriate next steps to ensure they are ready for their next stage of learning. We care for these children as if they are our own, we hug, we reassure, we praise, we celebrate their achievements. We ensure children learn to share, take turns, be kind, have excellent manners, socialise with their peers. We go the extra mile for parents wherever we can, we are there for them when they are experiencing difficulties, struggling to cope, when they feel there is no one there to help or listen.

Hi everyone
With Halloween looming and our half term next week, we will be turning our nursery into a spooky setting this week. The children can dress up in their Halloween outfits throughout the week if they wish, we will also have our own dressing up out so please don't feel you need to rush out and buy them an outfit.
We return from our half term on 31st October, which is actually on Halloween, so us adults will join the children in dressing up spooky on this day too!
Hey everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend. Here’s a few pictures from last weeks play activities… our theme was from the story ‘dear zoo’. To go along with the theme we were lucky enough to say hello to my mums puppy too, she brought her into the garden for the children to meet if they wanted to. They all loved her!
Hey everyone, we had a fantastic first week back last week, settling the children back in. We have some new children starting this week, that we look forward to welcoming into our ‘Little Lion Pride’ also!
Here are some of our activities from last week. The theme was all about me and settling in….

Our platinum jubilee celebrations at little lions!
How lovely is this…. It’s so nice to hear positive feedback. It just highlights to us how important we are to the young children that come to Little lions and reinforces that the hard work that we all put in pays off! Thank you so much for sharing Jenna x
Hi everyone, just a few reminders.…
We have the photographer booked to come into nursery this coming Tuesday (24th) to take professional photos of your children. We won’t be getting any messy play out before they have all had their pictures done! hahah
The weather is starting to heat up, so please remember to put sun cream on your children before they come to nursery. Those that sty all day, please supply us with a named bottle of suncream, to reapply in the afternoon. Also, can you please start to put sun hats on your children please.
Lastly, as the queens jubilee is approaching we will be celebrating it next week at nursery. The adults will be dressing up in red, blue and white clothes on Thursday and Friday, so please join us by dressing your children in patriotic colours too!
Have a great weekend! X
