Is phonics easy to teach?

In theory, teaching phonics seems easy. Isn't it just blending of the sounds?
I wish it were that easy!!! 😄

Parents have come to me facing challenges due to unfamiliarity with phonetic principles and, of course, lack of training. Effective phonics instruction requires a clear understanding of the English language's sound-letter relationships and the ability to convey these concepts to our little learners.

I would go as far as saying that you would need to be a native English speaker to be able to pronounce the phonemes (especially the digraphs and trigraphs) correctly if you'd like your child to 'read like a native'.
