Sometimes we spend so much time wishing away the hard parts that we forget they became part of our story too.

Maybe being human isn’t about avoiding the highs and lows.

It’s about feeling it all.

People often see the exciting moments and think it all happened overnight…yet they don’t see the 10 years behind it.

The hard slog.
The single mom financial struggles.
The many moments I came close to losing everything.
The times my dreams felt impossibly far away.

But I kept going.

What started as a song became an opportunity to write a 3-book fiction series called Backstage Hearts - and now there are even early discussions around a future film adaptation.

The original song was written as a tribute to my girlfriends in the UK and Canada - my real-life “backstage hearts” - the women who have supported each other through good and bad times, no matter the distance.

The books are loosely inspired by that kind of support network, while exploring women navigating career changes, reinvention, grounded friendships, and relationships shaped by life in the public eye. Each story is set across different locations including the UK, Vancouver, Atlanta, and Italy.

And although this opportunity is incredible, it’s still taken a full year of hard work just to get to this point. I’m still a way off from seeing the books in stores and releasing the music that will accompany them.

I wanted to share this because I know so many creatives, dreamers, and supporters in this community are chasing something that feels far away. Don’t give up on your dreams because they’re taking longer than expected.

Some dreams take years of unseen work before they finally begin to bloom. ❤️

Mine did.

And if you’re in that season right now - struggling, doubting yourself, feeling behind - keep creating anyway. Keep believing anyway. Your story isn’t finished yet.
