🍰🏃‍♂️ Thursday is Cookery Day at our Brondesbury Park nursery!

In keeping with this month's theme, 'All About Me', the children have been exploring the similarities and differences that make us all unique. Today, they made cupcakes and gingerbread men in different colours to represent different skin tones.

Everyone got involved in weighing, measuring, mixing, stirring, pouring and counting before spooning the cupcake mixture into cases and rolling out the dough for their gingerbread men.

When one child noticed that the gingerbread man was "like the story", it sparked lots of excitement and led to us reading The Gingerbread Man. But then... disaster struck! 😱

During lunch, we discovered that one of the gingerbread men had escaped from the oven! The children were very concerned, with one suggesting, "We need to call 999!" 😂 Another wondered if he had run all the way home!

And the adventure isn't over yet... 👀 The escaped gingerbread man has secretly gone home with one of our children. We can't wait to see where he is discovered and the lucky child's reaction when they find him! 🏃‍♂️🍪

A fun-filled day of cookery, storytelling, imagination and learning, with lots of opportunities to develop maths, language, literacy, social skills and so much more! ❤️

🎉 It's a new term and a brand-new academic year! 🎉

We have had a wonderful start with our theme, 'All About Me'. It's been a special time for reconnecting with old friends after the break and warmly welcoming lots of new friends too! 💛

Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, the children are learning all about each other and celebrating what makes every one of us unique and special. We are discovering that we may look different, learn in different ways and have different needs, but we can all be wonderful friends. 🥰

Our activities have explored everything from fine motor skills, mark making, literacy and communication to listening, focus and attention, understanding the world, art and design... and even a little maths! 🎨✏️🔢

Here's to another exciting year of learning, friendship and discovery! 🌟

🎓✨ Summer Concert & Graduation 2026 ✨🎓

What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another fantastic academic year!

We are so proud of our little graduates as they prepare to begin their 'big school' adventure this September. From performing in our Summer Concert to walking the red carpet in their caps and gowns to receive their certificates, it was a truly special and emotional day.

Congratulations to all of our leavers—we'll miss you, and our door is always open for a visit! 💛

🌈 A Little Bit of Science, A Lot of Wonder! 🍬

Our children became little scientists this week as they explored what happens when warm water is added to colourful Skittles!

They watched with amazement as the colours slowly spread through the water, creating beautiful rainbow patterns. Together, we talked about what was happening, asked lots of questions and even discovered where the colour had "gone" through a fun hands-on demonstration.

The children then experimented with different rainbow designs, explored colour mixing and even pretended to be photographers, copying their teachers as they captured the experiment!

Activities like these encourage curiosity, patience, observation, communication and early scientific thinking—all through play and exploration.

We had a wonderful event celebrating the end of another academic year and the little graduates moving on to 'big school' in September. Always a very emotional day for us but also very, very proud of the children.

To all of our amazing graduates, thank you for filling our nursery with laughter, curiosity and joy. We know you'll continue to shine as you begin your next adventure.
