Year 5 pupils have been taking advantage of our wonderful gardens for outdoor learning as part of their cross-curricular English and History work.
They were tasked with researching an historical figure and creating their own podcasts.
We loved hearing some of their fascinating facts – including one interesting comparison: Cleopatra lived closer in time to the launch of the modern iPhone than she did to the building of the Great Pyramid of Giza!

♟️ Well done to our Year 6 girls who represented Broomwood at the Dukes Chess Tournament today at Dukes House.
It was a fantastic experience for all involved, with the girls enjoying the opportunity to test their skills, meet pupils from other schools and take part in a competitive yet friendly tournament environment.
We are incredibly proud of the determination, concentration and sportsmanship they showed throughout the day.
Well done, girls! 👏♟️

We got our short nets out for some tennis in the sun today 🎾☀️
After some doubles, we moved into a fun “all in” game against each other – lots of energy, laughs and great teamwork on display.
In the end, if you keep scrolling, you’ll hear the team tactics that won through, with “Justice” coming out victorious! 🏆
A brilliant way to enjoy the sunshine and get everyone moving.

We are incredibly proud to share that Harriet Auty, who was with us from Reception through to Year 8, has been appointed Head Girl at Woldingham - a wonderful achievement 👏
Reflecting on her time at Broomwood, Harriet shared:
“Broomwood is a school that holds such special memories for me. As I was at Broomwood from age 4–13, it was a huge part of my childhood. Its community and wonderful teachers and staff made it such a safe and positive learning environment. The school pushed me to be creative, passionate and curious about life - qualities my current school, Woldingham, was looking for in their new team of young leaders.”
We are so proud to see these qualities continue to shine and wish Harriet every success in her role as Head Girl.
If you are a Broomwood alum, we would love to stay in touch - do sign up to our new alumni mailing list via the link in bio as we begin to plan future events and reconnect with our community.

Year 5 delighted audiences this morning with their wonderful and whimsical production of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. From Mr Toad’s reckless motorcar adventures to the loyal friendship of Mole, Ratty and Badger, the girls brought energy, confidence and heart to every scene.
They sang beautifully and shone on stage - a true testament to their hard work in rehearsals.
Thank you to Mrs Paulden, Ms Cheng, Mrs Coleman and Mrs Osborne for their support, and to Miss Jenn Favre, Head of Drama, for leading such a fantastic production. It was a first for us to have both a car and a boat on stage!

🎶 Girls’ Interhouse Music Competition 🎶
Last week St Luke’s was awash with colour and music for our Girls’ Interhouse Music Competition, as Rusholme, Sudbrooke, Blenkarne and Thurleigh took to the stage in full costume.
There were fantastic solos and fabulous whole-house performances, with excellent singing and lively actions woven into the songs.
It was lovely to have so many families there cheering the girls on. A wonderful way to round off the term at Broomwood, and a real celebration of their confidence and teamwork.
