At SBU Sixth, we work with a range of professionals to ensure our students get the best help and advice with their development. Our partners Ace to Employment provide coaching and careers support. One student recently told us "I found a listener who wanted nothing but my success. She made me see the bigger picture and created a light I never thought I had. Through her, I networked with great minds. She has been the greatest impact in my life."

We are well on track to achieve excellent academic results in our GCSE, A level and BTEC courses. These high-quality technical courses related to our engineering specialism, alongside the traditional subjects required at Key Stage 4, are underpinned by a guiding vision to promote students’ employability so that they can embrace the opportunities presented by the future economy and thrive in a competitive, professional environment.
Our facilities are host to industry-standard equipment for hands-on learning. Phase 1 of our building on Brixton Hill is now complete, with advanced engineering workshops supplemented by laboratory, computing and personalised learning spaces designed specifically for the STEM curriculum. Our workshops are the envy of many universities, let alone schools, with 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machinery, robotics and virtual reality all extensively used in our day to day learning.
We are privileged to be sponsored by London South Bank University and co-sponsored by world-leading employers such as Skanska, Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College NHS Foundation Trusts. Our partners are fully engaged and work with us to design and deliver real life projects where students solve real world problems and learn hands-on and across a range of subject areas. This contextualised learning and experience of the workplace gives our students the edge academically as they develop understanding grounded in the real world. Students develop the technical skills and exposure to working practices to set them apart from their peers.
