We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can join our on campus summer school programme at the end of July 2025.

You may support us as a volunteer from one day to the whole programme between Saturday 26th July and Saturday 2nd August 2025.

Our summer school programme is uniquely held in three locations in England:

1. Saturday 26th July
📍 Rikkyo School in England (West Sussex RH12 3BE)

2. Sunday 27th & Monday 28th July
📍 The University of Cambridge (Cambridge CB2 1TN)

3. Tuesday 29th July–Saturday 2nd August
📍 UCL (London WC1E 6BT)

The UCL-Japan Youth Challenge is an annual summer school programme since 2015.
Every year, pre-university students from UK sixth form colleges and Japanese high schools enjoy cultural interaction through various educational activities and events held at UCL (University College London) and the University of Cambridge.
Since 2015, we have welcomed hundreds of participants from the UK and Japan. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2025.

The UCL-Japan Youth Challenge 2025 is going to be held on campus in the UK between Saturday 26th July and Sunday 3rd August 2025.

The UCL-Japan Youth Challenge 2024 was our 10th programme, held on campus between Saturday 27th July and Sunday 4th August 2024.

We welcomed 84 participants this summer; 46 from 16 Japanese high schools, 38 from the UK—one of the largest UK cohorts to make our summer school programme truly international.

Participants enjoyed academic and cultural interaction throughout the programme.
They challenged themselves by taking UK-university style lectures delivered by UCL and University of Cambridge academics.

UCL Grand Challenge Workshop on Day 4: Tuesday 30th July focused on our programme theme ‘Space and Us’, exploring various aspects of the outer space and our society. Group discussion was illustrated by Scriberia.
Groups of participants presented their ideas and findings at the public Space and Us Symposium on Day 7: Friday 2nd August.

We celebrated our achievement at the Reception, and concluded the summer school programme successfully.

The UCL-Japan Youth Challenge Committee are most grateful for our partners, collaborators, sponsors and supporters.

On 2 August there will be a public symposium, 'Space and Us', at the Christopher Ingold Building, UCL.

朝のプログラムは語学レッスンで、生徒たちはグループに分けられ各クラスに参加しました（日本人：英語、英国人：日本語）。北川博士による経済学講義を聴きました（マルコス・ヴェラ・エルナンデス教授は不測の事態によりご欠席されました）。 昼食をとり、新設のUCL at Here Eastキャンパスへと移動。 ヴィジャイ・パワール博士("3Dマシンビジョン") および 角田貴大博士 ("AI、量子コンピューター、科学の未来"). 交通システムのエラーによる時間の遅れにより、UCLロボット工学研究所の見学はキャンセルとなりました。夜は主に日本の生徒に向けて、UCLをはじめとするイギリスのトップカレッジにて学ぶ学生による座談会が行われ、留学情報やイギリス生活などに関する経験をお話しいただきました。
