Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoyed the Easter break.
It is with great sadness that I am writing this post for a call to action to help support a local family after losing my third friend in 11 months.
In January, Jess Wood, a local mum sadly passed away suddenly leaving behind two young children aged 7 yrs old and 9yrs old. Jess was a close friend of mine (we had been close friends for 10 years having been pregnant together with our eldest and in the same antenatal group).
All of her family and friends are all shocked and absoutely devastated by her passing. Life will never be the same again and like so many other friends whose lives Jess touched, I am absolutely hearbroken. This happened a month after the loss of a schoolmum friend of mine π
Following Jess' death, many have asked what they can do to help her family. We would like to do what we can to support Jess' family following her sad death and have set up this Go Fund Me to help in some way.
Obviously nothing can replace a mother or partner but any contributions no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
I know it is probably not the best time to ask this especially in this current climate. However, as a supportive and caring parent community, I thought I would reach out to seek your help.
If you can, please consider sharing and contributing whatever you can to this Go Fund Me Fund as it all makes a difference towards securing the future and education of these two young children whose lives have been changed forever in one of the worst possible ways especially so soon after Christmas.
Contributions can be made via the link below:
http://gf.me/u/zm7a6b
Please feel free to leave a message for the family if you wish.
Thank you for reading and in advance for any contributions made and for sharing.
Please keep Jess and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Love and Light,
Sharmine xx

Boom! Second vaccine done! ππΎπͺπΎ
Received my second vaccine this evening and I am so relieved!!
And whilst waiting, I realised my crazy green glasses and scarf was matching with the green hospital wall! π€£π
The only time (especially during this pandemic) that I have been grateful for having an underlying illness (which meant I have been on the extremely vulnerable list therefore putting me in the same category as the over 70s).
Celebrated with a glass (or two) of some unopened bubbly that I found in my kitchen (I wasn't that organised to order some prosecco in time so am glad I had some that was given as a present to me).
Don't mind if I do! π₯ππ
What did you do this evening?

Who will be joining millions of people, including me, to switch off their lights for one hour tonight Saturday 27th March 2021?
From 2007, Earth Hour has been held every year on the last Saturday of March calling our attention to climate change. It has brought together millions of people in more than 180 countries and territories in reflecting on climate change and demonstrating their support for our planet by collectively switching their lights off for one hour.
Earth Hour aims to increase awareness and spark global conversations on protecting nature not only to combat the climate crisis, but to ensure our own health, happiness, prosperity and even survival.

One year today since we went into the first lockdown. Reflecting on all that has happened in the last 12 months.
Thinking of all those we have lost in the last year both covid and non-covid related.
We lit this candle at 8pm in memory of you all.
Missing family and friends we haven't been able to see. In particular I miss seeing you and your little ones at Busy Rascals and it has given me so much joy when I have bumped into some of you in our local park.
It would have been our 10th Year Birthday this week! I know we would have had an amazing celebration.
I miss the excitement on your little one's faces when they come in for their classes, the joy on their faces when they see their teacher, and the happiness on their faces during their session with us.
I miss seeing your little one's first smiles, laughs, steps, words and more!
I miss all of the cuddles I used to get and all of the beautiful smiles and drawings I was given too. I miss all of the chats, the cups of tea and babycinos together with you all. I miss seeing all of the connections between you all and the friendships I have witnessed being born and developed whilst coming to Busy Rascals.
I miss seeing face to face all of the teachers and the staff at . I miss our catch ups and our laughs together.
I miss organising all of the classes and events at Busy Rascals for you all. I miss teaching the classes I led and the joy I got from running them.
I miss the bringing together of our community.
I miss you all.
Thank you for allowing me to witness these incredible moments in the lives of your little ones and to being a part of your children's early years and your parenthood.
Looking forward to the day we can meet, chat and hug again at Busy Rascals.

Happy Friday! And Happy Belated International Women's Day to all of you amazing women!!! Too many for me to tag but oh so inspirational each and every one of you! ππΎ
So many female public figures who are an inspiration. From Frida Kahlo to Florence Nightingale to Rosa Parks to Maya Angelou to Michelle Obama to Marie Curie to Amanda Gorman to many more. There is an endless list of such amazing women.
But there are so many women in our lives that we meet daily, that we know, those that are a part of our community that are an inspiration. These unsung heroines.
May all of these women continue to inspire us to be better and to strive for what matters, for what is right and for change.
My biggest inspiration has been my mother. The strongest person I have known personally who battled through so many struggles and challenges including living with a debilitating and deteriorating illness but who looked after others in her community (she was a Matron and cared for elderly people in a care home she ran and later co-owned) and kept going regardless right to the end. She inspired me in so many ways. May she rest in peace. Photo of her with me as a child β€
Yes I know I am late to the party with the International Women's Day wishes. It has been a hectic week settling in the children back to school (plus dealing with customer orders and organising various wellbeing workshops) and I am so grateful it is Friday.
Both my boys settled back in well and no dramas at the school gates but my youngest J who is 6 has been finding it hard and been very tired so there has been a lot of meltdowns after school. And that was just me π€£π Only kidding. Just J.
Am so glad that it is Friday.....
Who is the most inspirational woman you know?
If there is a strong woman or women in your life that you would like to treat and spend time with, why not book one of my Wellbeing workshops for the two of you or for a group of you? Direct message me for more information xx

We had planned to go to the Welsh Harp for a walk this afternoon (10 mins away in the car) but unfortunately our car wouldn't start!
We went instead for a walk/cycle round our nearest park. Not sure if anyone has seen the new pond there?! ππ±
What did you do today?

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you are keeping safe and well.
Is there anyone you know that is currently eligible for the vaccine that hasn't had theirs yet or not received notification?
There is a backlog of letters for those eligible to book hence the link.
If so, please find a link for those of you currently eligible to book your vaccine.
If you (or someone you know) are eligible, you will be allowed to book it despite not having a letter. (My dad who is 72 booked his last week using the link after waiting and waiting for the letter to come (probably lost in the post). Whereas I got a direct message from my GP and ended up having my vaccine before my dad!)
If you are not yet eligible but know you are due to have one sooner than the general population, the system wont allow you but you can try again at a later date to book.
Hope that helps. Stay safe.
Sharmine xx

Prioritise teachers, school and childcare staff for Covid-19 vaccination
Advice from the JCVI on the priority groups for a Covid-19 vaccine does not include school/childcare workers. This petition calls for these workers, who cannot distance or use PPE, to be kept safe at work by being put on the vaccine priority list when such a list is adopted into government policy.
