Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission are carrying out a local area SEND inspection in Hackney.

👐 “Building inclusive environments that offer the right support at the right time”
A survey is now open on the new draft Hackney SEND and Inclusion Strategy.
Co-produced with children, young people, families, and professionals, the strategy outlines five key priorities for the next three years:
- Emotional wellbeing and family-centered support 👪
- Inclusive environments and belonging 🤝
- Transition and future pathways 🧭
- Waiting times and equitable access to support ⏱️
- Workforce development, training and resources 📚

👏 Our primary school children are the best in the country!
According to newly released statistics from the Department of Education, Hackney pupils ranked joint first in the country in their provisional KS2 SATs results!
76 percent of our pupils have met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined - 13 percent above the national average of 62%!

🔢 Maths 82%
Huge congratulations to all our pupils for their hard work, and a massive thanks to our schools and families for helping them shine!

We had a great time at the Hackney Carnegie event and were pleased to be joined by Katerina Karavapori, a Carnegie 2025 judge.
Hackney secondary school students have been reading the Carnegie Awards shortlisted books and voting for their favourites.
